My choice for the Jets First Round Pick..Josh Freeman

He's just like Joe Flacco, but more athletic.

I think he's going to end up going #1, but if some of the Big 12 guys declare he could fall to us.

#1, Really?

I know it is a long way until April, but here is McShay's current list of QBs:

1. Sam Bradford*, Oklahoma

2. Mark Sanchez*, USC

3. Matthew Stafford*, Georgia

4. Nate Davis*, Ball State

5. Josh Freeman*, Kansas State

6. Tim Tebow*, Florida

7. Graham Harrell, Texas Tech

8. Rhett Bomar, Sam Houston State

9. Mike Reilly, Central Washington

10. Drew Willy, Buffalo

11. Nate Brown, Central Arkansas

12. John Parker Wilson, Alabama

13. Chase Daniel, Missouri

14. Cullen Harper, Clemson

15. Curtis Painter, Purdue

I personally do not see Freeman leapfrogging Bradford or Stafford, and I think Sanchez will be drafted before him too, if he enters the draft. Freeman was wildly inconsistent at K State. He is a great athlete, but I am not sold on his abilities as a franchise QB.

Any list that has Stafford 3rd is dumb.

I know I'd go pro if I were him but I can see Mark Sanchez coming back to Troy next year. Just a feeling.

Money talks. The NFL is going to restructure rookie contracts next year, so this is the last gigantic pay-day for the 1st round picks. And rightfully so, but these QBs would be fools to stay for another year knowing this information. I am baffled that McCoy is staying at Texas.

Assuming Sanchez, Stafford, Davis and Bradford all come out he's at best the 5th QB in my eyes behind all of them. He's basically a poor man's Jamarcus Russell which is not what we need. He has all the physical tools to be great but his accuracy, reading defenses, and decision making are all suspect. Those weaknesses make him a strong candidate to be a bust. There are many positives about him but he's boom or bust and not worth the risk unless its in the 2nd round. I could see him jumping ahead of a few of the other underclassmen QBs purely based on physical tools and the fact that he'll impress in the offseason workouts, but there's almost no chance he goes #1 since the only thing he has on Stafford is size which is not that important for a QB. Stafford's arm is just as strong, if not better, and he does just about everything else better. Plus, arm strength is not even the most important trait for a QB and all the other junior QB prospects are better at pretty much every other aspect of the position.

Hopefully, he does well at the combine and pushes down the other QBs so we have a good shot at the others. And hopefully the Jets are smart enough to pass on him:rolleyes:.

if we dont take a homerun threat type WR or a beast of a LB/DE with out first pick (Please let it be Rey Maualuga) then its clear that the front office is clueless. I'd be willing to bet we dont take a QB at all this draft, too many other dire needs.

Why would you want Rey?? The problem with our defense was lack of pass rush and our linebackers were terrible in coverage; rey rey doesn't solve any of those problems. He isn't great in coverage, he over-pursues on a lot of plays and doesn't diagnose plays as well as someone at the highest level should. He is a great athlete, but i'm just not sold on him. The first guy that I would go after for our defense would be someone like Tyson Jackson.

That having been said, I would love to get Maclin or DHB. We desperately need someone that can get separation on a consistent basis.

Yeah great thinking.

Lets draft a guy two or three rounds higher than he'll go. Awesome.

Almost as stupid as the Ratliff Fan Club.

As acting member and vice-president of the Ratliff Fan Club I hereby revoke all participatory privaleges of our club.

Do not come knocking on our meeting-room doors in mid-August expecting some juice and a cookie.

"Lil Brett" has had enough physical tools to warrant keeping on a crowded roster amidst higher picked QBs, and will showcase to the braintrust that he can handle a football as good (if not better) than others in high pressure situations. He can throw, he can move, and he can't do worse than 22 ints.

So he "beat out" Erik Ainge, another garbage QB.

Awesome.

He's so good.

Maybe this Preseason he can do it against 2nd stringers instead of 3rd stringers and Budweiser Drivers!!!
