maybe hes still doing it because hes confident he will get it?

I think id rather have him over billick, or schotty.

and at least he has been an NFL assistand, and OL coach, so he has some experience in the NFL.

how were the packers offense in 06 because it says he was the offensive coordinator that year

tom coughlin was the HC at BC, he built a damn good franchise in Jacksonville after two years mike

What qualifies this guy over Ryan or Spags? Maybe because they want to kiss up to Favre and talk him into coming back. Thats probably the only reason they are even interviewing him.

I doubt he feels confident he'll get the job. He's probably interested and sees it as a big step up so wants to take the shot, and isn't going to allow BC to bully him into not doing what he really wants to do. However, I'm sure that what he does feel confident in is that if BC fires him, that worst case scenario he should be able to easily enough find a new head coaching job with another college. Of course that's all just a guess, but I think likely makes the most sense.

They weren't exactly worldbeaters in the years before he got there.

When was the last time a college HC won a Super Bowl? Jimmy Johnson I think and that was pre cap days...how did Johnson do when he got to Miami when a cap was in place? NO THANKS to college coaches...damn, that's really going backwards in my opinion.

he has pro experience, he runs a pro offense and defense at BC, he got them to play well without the recruiting money that football factories like oklahoma and florida have.

he has worked with favre, so if the old diva comes back he won't be a problem (with his whining)

and a few of BC head coaches have done well in the NFL, dan henning and Tom Coughlin

No, because their coaching sucked. But Ron Zook, whom Meyer replaced, recruited 75% of the team that Meyer won the national championship with two years ago. Hell, there are still a few Ron Zook recruits on the Gators.

Zook is an outstanding recruiter. He was just a ****ty coach. Meyer's system would not work in the NFL however. It is too dependent on taking advantage of mismatches that don't occur in the NFL because the talent level is so much better.

Yeah that's a great idea. Lets hire a coach to pacify a 40 year old done QB. That won't set the franchise back at all...

Last year. Coughlin was BC coach when he was hired by the Jags.

I'd much rather give him a chance than a nobody like Jagozinski simply because he's Favre's pal. I've said my top 2 choices are Ryan and Spags.

Put it on a Post It Note and send to Hempstead so Woody finds out when he is back from vacation.

This could potentially come back to bite B.C. in the ass, as why would any coach want to go to a team that's going to restrict his personal career advancement? Not a good move, especially seeing as this guy is an extreme underdog.

Granted, we do not know all of the details, but BC is a stepping stone program for a bigger job. Short of some unknown information, I agree this is not a good move by BC Administration.

Caughlin is not a good coach. he never had a good D until Spags showed up and his team went on a lucky run. Every Giant fan wanted him long gone before that fluke run bailed him out.

no all he did was build an expansion team into a powerhouse in two years and have them in the playoffs almost every year, and turn around a mess of a Giants team. you'd give your left nut for the guy to coach the Jets

Before Coughlin = Tiki barber = fumbling 3rd down back

During Coughlin = Tiki Barber = top5 RB in the league.

just saying.

NFL Experience

He made the transition to the NFL in 1999 becoming the tight ends coach for the Green Bay Packers under head coach Ray Rhodes. Rhodes and most of his staff was fired after that season, but new head coach Mike Sherman kept Jagodzinski until 2003 when he was released. He was quickly picked up by the Atlanta Falcons to be the offensive line coach.

Jagodzinski was hired by Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy on 2006-01-15 to replace offensive coordinator Tom Rossley. He was the fifth individual to hold the title of Packers offensive coordinator. Jagodzinski joined Paul Roach (1975-76), Lindy Infante (1988-91), Sherman Lewis (1992-99) and Tom Rossley (2000-05). Bob Schnelker (1969-71), John Polonchek (1972-74), Lew Carpenter (1975-79) and Tom Coughlin (1986-87) served as passing game coordinators on staffs that didn't necessarily carry an offensive coordinator.

During his time with the Atlanta Falcons Jagodzinski learned offensive zone blocking schemes from Alex Gibbs, the architect of successful NFL offensive lines such as the Denver Broncos that won Super Bowl XXXIII.
