crashingjet
Here it is guys, my official "stick it to em" thread. All issues related to Miami choking, 1 and done, Penny's interceptions etc... I briefly looked over the main board and have decided there are too many threads to respond to so, give it to me here, but first, I have some things to say. For everybody who is chomping at the bit, waiting to gloat about their vast knowledge of Chad and his interceptions and his inability to win playoff games, let me just say you are the same people who also said he would never beat the Jets in Giants Stadium, make the playoffs, win more than 10 games in a season and would never stay healthy for a full 16 game season. Chad silenced alot of critics this year, and by the 1st round of the playoffs, finially showed his ability to get rattled and frustrated. Every QB has a bad game every now and then, Chad had his against an absolute monster, AKA the Ravens defense. Chad did throw the game away, our defense did all it could, (but as you know, having had Favre as your QB), you can't have alot of picks and still expect to win. Having said that, he also had his best year ever as a QB. He threw for more yards than he ever has, and won more games in a year than he ever has. Chad has helped make Miami a legitimate team once again, by being a smart and effective QB. With all of that being said, I couldn't be happier about the direction the Miami Dolphins are heading. We went from having no hope at all to winning 11 games, a trip to the post season and the division title. Our coaching staff is in place and will not suffer a turnover like we have almost every year since 2004. Bill Parcells has come out and said that he is NOT going anywhere and that he loves it here in Miami. That's very good. We also are returning almost all of the good core players of our team. Both RB's, QB, O-line and D-line etc are returning next year as a core group of veterans who know our system and know eachother. I am currently licking my wounds and eagerly awaiting another Parcells/Ireland free agency and draft. The front office here did a great job of assembling a quality team last year and I fully expect them to do the same this year. Ok, with that being said, you may now pile your **** on the troll (the troll who roots for the reigning AFC East Champions, Miami Dolphins). 4HCrew
Way to step it up..tough loss..you are headed in the right direction but in order to get to a SB you need a qb that can beat top tier defenses. Chad is not that guy..if anything he will teach Henne a ton

faba
Parcells was going to get your franchise back to respectability which he started-Chad is a good guy just not a guy to lead you to a championship. That being said next year the schedule will reflect that first place- be warned.

I wouldn't exactly be putting my eggs in that Parcells basket just yet. In fact the fact that your owner says he'll be back makes it all more possible that he will NOT be back. He has a history of saying one thing and doing another. As far as Penny....told ya so. He is what he is.
Jetfan13
you lost as we all knew you would...stop with the caveats (sp), your team beat some crappy teams that we couldn't, know why? cause you sucked a little less then us. I love the "yea you were right but 1st" crap..Pennington got you to the 1st round, congratulations...All of us here knew he could do that..but he still can't beat a GOOD defense. and next year won't be better cause none of the AFCE teams have the easy schedule we had this year.. btw, I noticed the place pretty empty by the start of the 4th quarter, were one of the few that stayed or did you make an early exit also? Borgoguy
Everything you saw in that game shows you why it is imperative for your organization to find another QB pronto. Yesterday's inept performance by Chad was an almost carbon copy of the friggin' choke job he pulled in the playoff game with Oakland in 2001. Once an aggressive, talented defense enters the fray, his lollipop, ill-timed, throws don't stand a chance. With Chad, you will always be destined (doomed) to the same sequence of events: A competent, even somewhat successful, season with an early exit from the playoffs because his decision making skills are questionable, and he can't make the big throws, in crunch time. Arsis
Best case scenario with chad. You have the exact same year for the next three years. Decent season while doing balls against the ten best defensive teams in the league. Most likely scenario is he gets hurt about 5 games in having a decent stretch of games and your teams go into this whole ****ing "Well he was good before he got hurt" bull**** for five years. 124
We will see what Henne has next season. Why? Its and odd year, Chad always gets hurt in odd years! 2003 - broken wrist 2005 - 2nd torn rotator cuff 2007 - ankle issues 2009 - ??? But Arsis is right, you now see exactly how far Chad can take you. Chad can get you into the playoffs, always only in the Wild Card Round and then MAYBE once in a while he can win a 1st round game, but after that, no way Jose. kelticwizard
Will somebody please clear something up? A) Did Parcells publicly publicly proclaim he is staying in Miami? kelticwizard
Thank you for the clarification, BP. Which means that the matter is still up in the air. Not to run down businessmen, but it really is business ethics that you say whatever is to your advantage about your product or service regardless of truth, unless there are specific laws or guidelines specifically against it. The Miami Dolphins with Parcells next year are more valuable than the Miami Dolphins without Parcells next year, so it is not so surprising Mr Huizenga has heard an assurance by Parcells that he is staying which nobody else has heard. Green DNA
The script played out exactly as Jets fans said it would. Chad will look great leading the team up and down the field and then throw the ill timed interception or even better, pick six. At the end of it all, you look up and realize that you only have 3, 6 or 10 points on the board and wonder how that happened. Welcome to the Chad experience. I hope the Fins give him a long extension.
CTM
I hate these threads designated to getting served crow that start off with about 100 reasons why the crow isn't deserved... Anyway, couple of points.. 1) Most who said the noodle arm wouldn't win in NY didn't expect that our season would be ended the week before. Most of our team slept through that game as was obvious to anyone there. 2) As told to you after the Jets game, he did not play well, our defenders just didn't hold onto the INT's he attempted to throw. I believe several people said that if Chad played the exact same game against the Ravens as he did against the hapless Jets defense, he'd have 5 picks. We'll Ed Reed felt charitable in not hanging onto the 5th int. 3) Kudos to you for not throwing the team under the bus in favor of Chad, but here i will for you. This game just proved what has been said all along, the Dolphins were riding smart football, a conservative game managing QB and a weak schedule this season. The minute they stepped up in class they were overwhelmed by a better team. Make note, this team was also 11-5, on the road and had a rookie QB that laid his own egg. Had Flacco had a decent game, they'd have won by 35. 4) Unless Parcells makes some drastic moves this offseason, be prepared to see a replay of today many, many times next season when your schedule is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult. 5) Sparano, just like Mangini before him, has already done the "chad, chad he's my man" routine. Look for him to get a big $$$$ extension and Henne to rot on the bench. Thus far this is a carbon copy of the 2006 Jets season.

bitonti
Chad's upside is what we saw yesterday. He'll manage the team to 10 or 11 wins and piss it away in the playoffs. Right now, after a 1-15 year that sounds like a great improvement. A couple more years of this management however and the Fins will be sick of Chad, just like the Jets were sick of Chad. He's a limited player who 12 years ago didnt have enough athletic ability to warrent a scholarship at BCS school... and he's less athletic now.
