Hicks from NC going pro

Not true, Tate is more dangerous as a return man.

Nicks should do well in the NFL. He's been very reliable at Carolina and has good speed.

I saw a lot of that team this season and I'd much rather have tate. I think Nicks will be good but Tate could be a TO type.

If you have seen alot of them this year, you have not seen much of Tate.

Injury cut his season short, unfortunately.

I know but I saw him live and in a few games earlier in the season. I think he could be a great pro. I think Britt will be a better pro than Nicks because of his size.

Let's compare the stats for Tate and Nicks here at UNC.

Brandon Tate-In his career at Carolina, he had a total of 46 receptions, 927 total yards, and 8 total touchdowns as a WR.

Hakeem Nicks-181 receptions, 2,840 yards, and 21 touchdowns as a WR. He did all this in 3 seasons.

Tate's real talent is at returns.

Nicks is by far the better all around receiver.

Those numbers don't really matter. There are guys in college with 3000 yards that won't even be drafted.

He just looks to me like a home run hitter in the NFL....

I hope he is. I want to see all UNC players do well at the next level, much like I am sure you want to see all Rutgers players do the same.

However, if it were draft day and I were choosing which guy (out of Tate or Nicks) to draft, I would take Nicks, and I wouldn't think twice about it.

Yeah but think about where they will be drafted. Tate might drop becuase of his injury and could be a really good value pick.

If they get offended by that, they need to grow some thicker skin. We're not going to stop--saying stuff like this will encourage gay mod jokes.

And that was one of probably only a couple gay mod jokes I have made in my entire time being a member here. The set up was there, I couldn't resist.

You like him so much you combined his first and last name!

I'm huge on the Nicks bandwagon; I think when all the off-season stuff is done, he'll be a top 15 pick. He's a guy that will wow you at the chalk board and in the interview, and then go out and impress you even more on the field.

Very good player with his head on straight.

OK, North Carolina season ticket holder here..have seen all the games for several years..

Nicks is guranteed starter gold IMHO as far as NFL standards are concerned..He has muscle and YAC along with unreal hands..the guy makes alot of catches one handed..

I think he is a Jerry rice type (same size/speed ratio). Dont get me wrong, no one will be as good as Rice, I just see him as similiar type, aka, strong, catches balls and does most damage via YAC.

I actually agree with Madmike and Jetheelz..I think they are both right...

Tate has done most damage via returns, but that is due to the idiot coach, John Bunting, we had before Butch Davis. He never gave him a chance at WR. Butch came in and said WTF and started playing him at WR. So Tate was learning on job last 2 years. He got better every single game and this year before he got hurt UNC was scary due to teams being unable to double both.

Tate has killer speed and is strong as an ox so his upside is huge as far as a home run hitter WR gamechanger, along with guaranteed return man for a team. He is well worth a 3rd/4th round flyer (he drops due to injury).

Could Tate have surpassed Nicks as a WR if he had Butch as a HC and had played WR for 4 years? maybe.
