yeah billick proved he can win with trent dilfer, then he ran him out of town. btw he had arguably the best defense ever. billick uber-fail.

btw an article on boston.com revealed this about the jagz situation

Although there had been various reports stating that a clause in Jagodzinski's contract prohibited any contact with NFL teams for his first three seasons -- the coach is in the second year of a five-year deal with a total compensation package of more than $1 million per season -- sources at BC said yesterday that no such clause existed, although there was an understanding that Jagodzinski, who was hired two years ago to replace Tom O'Brien, would refrain from seeking other jobs for at least three seasons.

The crux of the issue was not the contract, but the failure by Jagodzinski to tell DeFilippo about the contact with the Jets. DeFilippo learned of the situation between the Jets and Jagodzinski Saturday afternoon when a reporter asked him if any contact between the coach and team had been made. DeFilippo, who had asked Jagodzinski earlier about the matter and been told that published reports of an imminent meeting were false, was then informed that a meeting had been set up and that Jagodzinski had not told him the truth.

Okay, if this is true I can understand why there would be some anger on the part of the AD at Boston College.

Agreed, that would change the situation entirely.

Not for me, unless it says in his contract he must tell his employer.

When was the last time you interviewed for a new job and before the interview, told your current employer?

It is the fact that he lied about it, not the secret part. Once the news was out, he should have fessed up.

OK, still doesn't change anything in my mind..

So if you have a job interview, your current boss finds out, you know you don't have a great chance of being hired, and said boss confronts you.

You straight up lie?

Not to mention that Jags had to have known that the press would be all over the Jets HC candidates.

No too smart if you ask me. If I were the Jets brass, I would not want to hire someone they know would lie to their face.

If my boss comes up to me and says he's firing me if I am interviewing with the Jets? I think you have to.

he wasn't gonna fire him if he interviewed with the jets, he was gonna fire him because he found out about the interview from a reporter, when he then asked Jagodzinski, jagz lied to him.

that's why he's gonna fire him

That is not how it went down, allegedly, according to this report. This story says the lie came first, with the retaliating fire threat being subsequent.

I don't believe that... because otherwise I see no reason to lie.

In the real world, you never want your boss to find out that you are interviewing anywhere else.
