Looks like fun.

Like playing shuffleboard.

i went on a cruise last summer and i tried playing shuffleboard. i don't know how anyone could be entertained by it. so instead, i got really drunk, and then played shuffleboard again. needless to say, it was a lot more fun that way.

well, if you must know...it was raining (only rainy day on the cruise) and we were at sea. couldn't lay out and i needed to kill some time before this show they had going on. so i was like, why the hell not?

5 minutes into it i left and then went to the casino.

I was in Single A curling for a couple of weeks before I blew out my shoulder.

Coach lost the locker room and our season was over.

:rl:

BTW - You people are no help, whatsoever. As for drinking, it's a requirement of my teammates. There is a bar at the rink. I imagine it'll be a pretty hungover drive down I-81 coming home.

I agree. It is addictive to watch. Truly a bizarre sport. I mean, who thought it up - let's throw big rocks down ice and use brooms to guide them???

Here is Grand National Curling website http://www.gncc.org/ with links to USA Curling site, World Curling Federation site, and so on.

Bob, clubs that might have some info on curling: http://www.gncc.org/gnccclubs.html

I know nothing about curling yet I'm curiously fascinated by it when the winter Olympics are on.

Same here. I'm really looking forward to it. A road trip with friends to Canada with some mildly competitive sport thrown in. It's going to be great.

It's not as easy as it looks.

Those stones weigh like 40 pounds and are not as easy to move as you would think.

I guarantee you'll fall on your butt at least once. Hard. I hope you have some curling shoes (yes, curling shoes) and possess good balance.

You really need to be flexible to get into the proper position to move the stone. And this is a VERY serious sport in Canada.

Now that I've said all this, it's a lot of fun. It's a very strategic game that requires a lot of thought and precision. Plus the parties and people are great.

Good luck.
