L.I.MikeBleedsGreen
Everyone knows that Cassell is a free agent this year and (Brady might be back) Anyway, I was at a bar the other day and over heard some Jet fans saying that the Jets were in the running to give Cassell a big payday for his services. Has anyone else heard this? or was it two drunk fans wishing on a star lol ? Discuss

drago
we'd have to trade for him...fat chance of us giving the pats picks. Not to mention, Cassell is a system QB just like brady. Without moss, he's nothing.

SMC
No. Cassell will be franchised. The Pats don't know if Brady will be healthy enough to start the season. Cassell is an expensive insurance policy, but he's the best they have.

Discuss The Jets signing Cassel would be a colossal mistake and the biggest waste of the salary cap since we signed Damien Robinson. Cassel's success is tied directly to the system he's in. Any team who signs this guy will find out he's nothing more than a fraud. The guy's a joke.

PatriotReign37
NE would never trade Cassel to the Jets unless they forked over 2 - 1st round picks. The price the rest of the NFL would be lower.

PatriotReign37
Good. Then we're assured he won't be a NYJ next season. Yup, its Clemens or Ratliff. What I dont get is if Clemens is "so ready" then why bring Favre to town? Something is amiss.

They're moving slowly b/c spending $5k on a PSL is hard to swallow in this economy. Those seats would all be gone by now if this happened in the mid-90's. Garb
Casell will be franchised this year - and hopefully traded - unless Brady is unable to start the season. That said, say best case scenario- Brady is ready and Cassel is traded. It is so unlikely that Cassel would be traded to the Jets seeing that both franchises have an immense dislike for each other. And, if it did happen. Be worried. Last time that happened - Drew Bledsoe was traded to Buffalo. If BB is willing to trade someone within the division, you have to beleive the guy is bunk. Without moss, he's nothing. This is funny stuff. When I went to the NE vs NY game 1.5 years ago, no less than a dozen Jets fans praise of Tom Brady was effusive. It was border line embarassing how much they loved him and couldnt stand Pennington. That was the game where Penny went down and they cheered. Of course, the highlight of the tailgate next door was Sooths burning the ceremonial Brady jersey, but even that was a show of respect.
