I think this is BIG about the Mangini thing and a quick quick Favre question.

Personally, I hate him as a coach and glad he's gone, but most of that came from him jamming his 3-4 down our throat and watching us suffer with a painfully weak defense for Two years (32 games +)then in year 3 giving us 11 good games.

That and he never adjusted for favre, and on and on, but

Well, here, he has the personnel to run the only defense he knows , the belichek/Pats 3-4

so it shouldn't be a painful two seasons of garbage D and he starts with a young QB, let him bring as many guys as he wants from out CS.

How long to we wait on Favre?, shouldn't we get our CS prepared ASAP?

What should be the timeline, the SB?

The biggest problem with Mangini is, he really doesn't even know how to run the 3-4. Mr. T got him the guys for it (Jenkins, Pace) and got rid of the 4-3 only guys (DRob, Vilma) - but face it. Even in the first 11 games this year, they could not stop the pass. They could run the ball, pass the ball, stop the run and had Leon Washington - that is enough to go 8-3 against a weak schedule.

Mangini is a fraud. He will be further exposed with a Browns team that has less talent than the Jets.

As for Favre, they should give him all of the time he wants to make a decision. But they should decide internally to move on without him. If he decides to retire, then it is all hugs and kisses. If he decides he wants to come back, trade him. If they can't find anyone to trade with, cut him.

he couldnt run 3-4 but was promoted to DC in NE by your god the all knowing bellycheat, i can understand if you say he is a bad coach but to say he doesnt know 3-4 is an epic fail IMO

He was a puppet in NE and you know it... he cannot effectively run a 3-4 D... he is too stubborn and does not put his players in position to succeed...

Really? And how did the Patriots defense do in the one year he was DC versus their other years? Before and after that one year? And why did Belichick take over the defensive playcalling from him later in that year?

And using your own logic, how can he not be a good HC if he was immediately snatched up by Cleveland?

Give some thought before you post.

I'm too lazy to look it up but the Pats D had their worst year, statistically, when Mangini was the DC in 2005.

I've been saying the same thing about the switch to the new d when he came in from day freaking one. I think we should wait out favre. not because I want him back, but make the dude make a decision. Make he come out and say I retire.
