NJ
Yes, when he's healthy he's succesful, except 2007. Not to mention that he's almost never healthy.. Successful? 9-10 win successful? Yep - he's done that now a few times. 12, 13, 14 win successful? He cant get healthy enough for that. That would mean he'd have to beat a few good teams (including the kind of teams you meet in the playoffs) The only thing successful about the article was assmunch Edgar Thompson successfully fleecing whoever paid him to write it. He wrote an O'Henry story when they were paying him to write non-fiction.

Gainzo
No, his four interception wild card chokejob capped "an MVP worthy season". He was comeback player of the year for goodness sakes! Then again it was the 2nd time he "won" that award. Does Chad lead the NFL in playoff games where a starting QB throws a pick 6? He must be the leader in turnovers for a guy who has posted a 2-4 playoff record. 2002 (Part 1): Destroyed the Colts. 2002 (Part 2): Two picks. 2004 (Part 1): Threw one good pass and the Jets won against the Chargers. 2004 (Part 2): Sucked balls in Pittsburgh. 2006: Pick 6 to Asante Samuel. 2008: Pick 6 to Ed Reed, plus the other 3 picks. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PennCh01_playoffs.htm 6.6 per yard completion and 77.3 QB rating. Who wouldn't want Chad as their QB in the playoffs? The guy is a winner!

Ghost
No, they aren't. Pennington probably wins almost the same number of games with the Jets that Favre did. Yes, Favre should be done. That doens't mean Pennington is Mr. Wonderful or getting Favre was the wrong move for 2008. And but for Eric Barton (a dipsheet scumbag)dropping an easy INT from #10 that hit him between the 5 and the 0, he probably doesn't get a playoff berth. All these media people voting for Pennington for MVP should have their votes yanked. This is another example of a good guy giving the press access and being personable with the media and having it influence how a player is covered. Not even saying Pennington is trying to curry favor, merely that because he's a good guy he gets a pass. Recall that playoff game vs. the Steelers where the Jets scored special teams and defensive TDs and still managed to lose due to the fact that like last Sunday the QB is easily defensed? Think of that; the Jets units other than offense gave them 14 points and the QB couldn't find a way to win. How unlikely is that? Pennington is a smart QB and rightly proud guy. But cut the crap; he NEVER does anything against good defenses in January. And that won't change. Pennington won't win in New England or Tenn. Aqua4ever04
was he the starting qb? yes did he score 4 TDs? no I love when people's teams suck so bad that they have to make fun of their supperiors in their avatars or sigs. And Chad was responsible for moving the ball up and down the field all day. Just because we punched it in down around the goal line does not mean Chad didn't have a huge impact on that game. And just because Ronnie Brown is the best player on our team is no reason to penalize Chad.

crashingjet
What QB? Don't even try to compare a SB winning QB to Pennington... and as for the rest... they have never been... Haha, dude seriously, stop. This isn't 1996, today's Favre isn't even close to being the same player he was over a decade ago. If I were to compare Favre and Penny for 2008, Chad would beat him on paper for every stat except the TD and int., which Favre has more, almost twice as many ints. That's not good. docdhc
I always liked Chad, and in retrospect, I wish they never dumped him for Favre, but his playoff record is mediocre. He had 2 good games, Indy and San Diego. He did play those 2005 games with a torn rotator cuff, so you have to give him credit for guts, but he just doesn't have the ability to beat a good defense. 8tds and 8 ints is mediocre, and he has never won a division game. I don't think it sucks but it certainly isn't good enough if you want to win a championship.

Sperm Edwards
Without a defense holding so many opponents to under 20 points, Chad's headline would have read "Fails again" instead of "Comeback player" for the year. Miami won exactly ONE game all season when the defense gave up 20+ points. And that came against the 2-win Chiefs. What a star.

Yes, but Chad never was and never will be the QB that Favre was in 1996.. And Ftr, I'd bet anything that if Favre went to Miami he'd have had a better year then Penny did here. Penny had a very similiar 1/1 TD to INT ratio under Mangini

Is that the game where had did nothing besides dump it off to Leon who did the rest? If I remember correctly, a Dolphin player even dropped a game ending INT near the end of that game... I could understand why Fins fans would say such things, but that wasn't a game in which I would've done it. He played much better against them in
