SouthernJet
Great performances and interspersed documentary film are the driving forces in this retelling of the famous David Frost post Watergate interview of impeached Prez Nixon. This film tells the behind the scenes machinations of how it happened, how it came off and the inside story from both camps of how it enfolded. Langella is solid as Nixon as is Kevin Bacon as chief Nixon aide. Oliver Platt, and Sam Rockwell (playing Jim Reston, then UNC professor ) are great as the investigators Frost hired to do 5 months of research before the interviews. Any political/history junlie will eat this flick up. IF you liked Fog of War you will also love this flick. This is more a real drama as opposed to documentary , but has all the inside stuff that yoou will dig. There were many things I learned in this flick that I had no idea about until viewing this film. 3 1/2 's
