Eagles. I only wanted the Giants to win last year due to my strong disliking of the patriots. It was the greatest thing in the world to see this city bummed out like it was after they lost last year.

That having been said, I'm getting quite annoyed with all the giants fans coming out of the wood works and talking all this trash, when half of them haven't owned a jersey, watched more than a game or two in..well most of their life. And, I've always liked 'Cuse grads and love McNabb.

Bunch of bitter Jets fans hating for no reason.

Losers. Just like my fellow Mets fans. Losers.

Not only is that an enormously broad statement, but it's also fairly condescending. Just because we don't like the giants means we are bitter??

How about having to play in a stadium called Giants Stadium for the last quarter of a century, or have Strahan beat Mark Gastineau's sack record, or just deal with higher-than-thee fair-weather Giants' fans all year long. It's no being bitter, it's just a rivalry that isn't produced on the field, but off of one...it's the classic example of an innercity rivalry.

Cubs fans dominate the chicago area, but are the White Sox bitter of the Cubs??? I would say their World Series ring in '05 would say otherwise. NL and AL, yet they still don't like each other...another example of an innercity rivalry.

It's just nature, anytime you share a city with fans of another team, and you have to deal with them day in and day out, you are going to grow to either like both teams, or just hate them. So, I wouldn't say that a Jets' fan not liking the giants is being bitter, but more just a rivalry.

You hate the Giants because we play in Giants Stadium? :bwahaharoll:

I never said EVERY Jets fan who hates the giants is bitter. Just the ones who hate them because we play in their stadium and their fans rub their success in your face...

Hating the Giants because we play in their stadium and their player broke our one of our players record is lame. And sad.

It's not lame and sad, it's those type of little things that lead to a rivalry with the opposing team from your city. Divisional rivalries come from on the field play. Off the field rivalries tend to stem from the things i've mentioned. Do you live in New York?? Because if you do than you know it's different if you never have to deal with the fans of the other team, but when you do so on a constant basis you can see how a rivalry and disliking for them can easily fester over the years.

And no you didn't say every Jets fans who hates the giants are bitter...but you made a fairly blanket statement saying that those on here who are rooting for the eagles are typical haters and are bitter. Since you offered no other reason for calling us bitter, I just assumed it was because we didn't like the giants.

And don't downplay playing in a stadium named after another team from your city... how about if your islanders didn't play in the Coliseum, but played in MSG, which was called Rangers stadium??? If you are any type of islanders fan the thought alone of that should sicken you. My point is, playing in a stadium named after another team from your city just perpetuates the idea of a franchise that lives in the shadows. That may sound petty, but I bet a lot of fans on here will agree with me on this one.

I grew up and lived in NY for 25 years. I never had any hatred or bitterness towards the Giants nor have I ever had any issue with their fans.

I dont care where the Islanders play, as long as I get to watch them. Plus it is a much different situation. Islanders and Rangers are true rivals. Better comparison is the Mets playing in Yankee Stadium, which wouldnt bother me. Where a team plays their games does not change how I root for my team or their performance on the field. And like it or not the Jets are the 2nd team of NY. We have been for our entire existance. If you cant handle it, jump off the bandwagon.

I did make my case for bitter Jets fans. They are bitter towards the Giants because they are successful and the Jets are not. I experience this with the Mets/Yankees every year and it is pathetic. Sorry if it hits too close to home for you or it upsets you, but it is lame and pathetic.

I hope neither team makes it to the Super Bowl, but today I'm rooting for the Eagles. For no other reason than because after one good run last year and strong start this year, every Giants fan I know has become such an obnoxious crap-talker that I can't stand having to deal hearing their crap anymore. Guys at work apparently felt it necessary to give me crap completely unprovoked every Monday during the Jets late season collapse, which I found comical given they lost 3 of their last 4. So honestly, I just want the chance to tell them to shove it up their asses.

Anyone can pretty much root for whatever team they want. I assume that you are not the amazing Kreskin who knows why everyone roots for the teams they root for but you seem to be making quite a mindreader. Nobody needs to justify why they don't like a particular team, they just do and that's fine.

It wasnt based off of me reading minds, just reading message boards and talking to people who tell me their reasons why they hate the Giants or Yankees or whatever.

If someone's reason to hate a team that isnt a rival is because of the fans are trash talking you its lame. They can root for who they want. I can criticize them for it too.

Maybe rooting for at team simply because they play in the same city as the team you root for or the city that you live in is lame, but to each his own. I despise the Giants and wish nothing but bad fortune upon the franchise, not so much because their fans trash talk (apart from a few a-holes which every team has) but because they are cross town rivals.

The media bias towards the Giants has always been evident, even when they both sucked. It was always GIANTS LOSE!!! (jets win) on the back page of the papers. The Giants are Big Blue and the G Men, but the Jets are called another name for soft tissue necrosis (gangrene). Maybe living in Mass. has dulled your sensitivity to this, but if you polled Jets fans living in the tri-state area you would find that most root for the Jets and whoever is playing the Giants every week.
