Season's over, I have questions.

1. Harris and Rhodes both sucked this season. Granted, Harris was injured.. but even when he was in, he didn't impress. Will either of these guys make a comeback next year?

2. What happened to the blitzing that we were doing earlier in the season? Why did we stop, when our LBs obviously can't cover.. they might as well be put to some use.

3. Are we going to have to switch BACK to the 4-3? I don't care one way or another, but I don't think that should be changed constantly.

4. Anyone see that white guy that was playing linebacker at the end of the year? Who was he again? And does anyone else agree with me when I say I want to see more of him?

5. Stuckey seems OK, but not any faster than Cotch or Coles. How about Clowney as the #3?

6. Anyone else want to see a bit more of Brad Smith on offense?

7. Leon obviously can't return punts the same way he returns kicks. Why not take him off of punts and give him more touches on offense instead?

8. I know we have a lot of needs, but can we just for once spend our 1st on a top-rated QB prospect and develop him?

1 They will be better if the coach puts them in position to make plays. Mangini didn't.

1. Yes. Both will be improved next year. Both are very good players and will benefit by a new DC.

2. Our whole D sucked in the 2nd half. Jenkins was a big part in the first half, and after he was hurt we stunk worse than sour milk.

3. I hope not. We're not built to wait 2 years to be good again. You implement the best system for the personnel we currently have.

5. Our WR's are overrated. Coles and Cotch stunk this year. None could get open. Clowney is decent, Stuckey doesnt deserve it any more than him, but it comes down to who gives the Jets the best opportunity to succeed. And I'll let the coaches make that decision.

7. Leon is a change of pace guy. He isnt an every down player. He is effective because he gives a different look. I blame play calling more than anything, but I dont think Leon is as great as everyone wishes he is.

8. Wont happen this year. Jets have 3 decent QB's they have tried to develop plus Favre. If Favre leaves then we are going to get a FA QB. Jets have bigger needs now than worrying about developing a QB, something Jets fans dont want anyway.

Yes, I think they can bounce back. I'm not worried about Kerry, people are making way to big of a deal about him this season. Hopefully a new coach will utilize him properly.

David Harris concerns me. He really didnt play well at all this season. Was he a one year wonder? But I saw enough in 06 to think he has it.

Harris was a result of an injury, at least i am willing to chalk it up to that. Rhodes I will give a pass to as well as it seems the cs was just clueless this year

Doubt it, but with a new cs you never know. I do hear that going from 3-4 to 4-3 is easier than the other way around though

I have a feeling Coles will be gone. I think Clowney will get a good hard look in 09

He needs more touches regardless of punt duties. I wish we had kept miller for kick returns, and leon for punts. Maybe Lowery should get some work at punt returns, he seemed like he might have a knack for it.

Not this year, i think next years draft may be better for that. Besides, contrary to what is going on with Ryan and Flacco, the best way to develop a future franchise qb is to have him sitting behind a quality vet for 2 years.

1. I don't think they sucked. They just aren't dominating players and Harris was hurt and had an off year. IMO, Rhodes will be fine. I think Harris will be very dependant upon who is hired as DC. He will be a valuable performer, but depending upon the scheme may not be an every down player.

2. The LBs are stone slow. They can't cover backs and TEs. The quick spread makes them look ridiculous and there is no natural pass rusher on the team. A quick dump will beat the blitz and the failure of anybody to beat even a single team means that they require surprise and unusual blitzes to get in.

3. I'm with you. I always preferred the 4-3, but I'd rather not switch again at this point. Too many pieces in place.

4. Trusnick was a DIII DE signed as and UDFA in '07. He was considered undersized and slow at DE, but ran some good times at his pro day and the Jets converted him to LB. I think he may have had some durabiity concerns. Looked good in limited time. We may have to see more of him because Barton is an UFA.

5. I like Stuckey better in the slot. Clowney will probably be part of the mix because he is cheap and has looked good.

6. Smith is the #3 WR. If you want to see more of him, then why do you want Stuckey and Clowney fighting over #3? I don't think Smith is to bad, but he hasn't exactly excited me either. He is another guy that may flourish or disappear with the coaching change.

7. I'm with you. I'd have liked to see Stuckey or Lowery there. I never liked Leon as a punt returner, but he's been servicable. Stuckey was dinged in camp and Lowery was learning to be the #2 CB, so I understand them not taking Leon's place this year. OTOH, anything that gets Leon touches can't be bad.

8. Probably not. Depends who is there, but they have 3 project QBs already and I don't think it's worth picking another one unless he is considered a franchise type prospect. That's not likely falling to #17.
