Jetfan13
The Dolphins are intrigued by West Virginia quarterback Pat White in the upcoming April NFL Draft with an eye on his having a major role in the team's Wildcat offensive variation next season. That's according to a source of ours who is privvy to personnel guru Bill Parcells telling an associate exactly that within the past few days. This is interesting on a couple of fronts. 1) It suggests Tuna is actively engaged in draft planning and has every intention of staying on despite recent speculation. 2) It indicates Miami feels there is much life left in the Wildcat and many ways to expand it. Most draft estimates have the 6-foot, 192-pound White as a 3rd or 4th round pick. NFLdraftscout.com rates him as the fifth best QB in the draft and 93rd overall. White would lend more of a passing threat to the Wildcat offense than current Wildcat hub Ronnie Brown. The Dolphins are intrigued by White's dual-threat possibilities and also see him as a winner, aware he has a 4-0 bowl record and was MVP in the past three of them. guess they are gonna stick with the mirror appraoch...good defenses aren't fooled by that college crap...SEE BALTIMORE GAME

Jetscode1
Is his potential any different than Brad Smith coming out of college? He won't make it as a QB in NFL, has to switch positions, most likely WR. Not sure any of the scouts have seen enough of his hands. Some value if a team runs some version of the Wildcat but the offense is a gimmick and most coordinators will have seen enough of it this past year to better defend it next year. A fourth round or later pick its probably good value but he'll need to make some plays on special teams or devlop quicker as WR than Brad Smith has. Too many questions... Pat White has a little more burst than Brad Smith and is a little bit better thrower. Smith is a 4.6 + guy while White should run under 4.6. madmike1
The wildcat was productive against the Jets. No it wasn't. Awfully thrown dead ducks that Lowrey and Elam didn't look back for were what won that game heh.

Looks to have great running ability but its his hands that will determine whether he can make the transition to WR. Just too many questions unless its fourth round pick or later plus your team runs some deriative of the Wildcat offense. Even then he would need to make an impact on special teams to justify the roster spot...

crashingjet
No it wasn't. Awfully thrown dead ducks that Lowrey and Elam didn't look back for were what won that game heh. The Dolphins had used the exotic formation sparingly in recent games, but they employed it nine times Sunday and it produced 62 yards, or about 20 percent of their 319-yard total http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/content/sports/epaper/2008/12/29/1229dolphins_main.html
Lil Bit Special
If it works.. fine. I think we all get too caught up in what kind of offense or defense a team employs. Most teams split evenly between the pass and run. Most defenses show a different formation a lot during a game. Having a base offense or defense is good to start, but it all comes down to gameplanning, playcalling, and execution on Sunday's. Miami executed well for a good portion of the season, just not in the playoff game. Jets should have just been executed for their lack of gameplanning and playcalling and execution. Irish Jet
If they want a real stud for this formation they should seriously consider Michael Vick. ****ty starting QB, ****ty human being but that wildcat would be built for his talents. Vick would get 1500 rushing if he played for Miami it would be the best fit for his style.
