Eli scores big pay day

If the Giants give Eli Manning anything close to $10 million a season, let alone $15 million, they are flat out DUMB. Just because the guy has one solid playoff run sandwhiched between a couple of piss poor seasons doesn't mean he is worth that kind of money. If I were the Giants I wouldn't give him any more than what Derek Anderson got last season from Cleveland.

What a waste of money that's going to be. He's a good QB, but paying him like he's an elite QB is a mistake IMO.

Man, thats insane. He doesnt deserve a big contract like that, but I guess its better than franchising him.

I agree, but the Giants really don't have a choice.

Eli will get that on the open market.

It sounds ridiculous when you first hear it but its not that bad when you take all things into account. He obviously doesn't deserve to be paid as the #1 guy in the league at QB, but ever notice that everytime someone signs a big contract its always "the highest" something? Every year the dollars go up so if someone signs a "franchise" QB to an extension next year he'll get more than Eli. Wasn't Big Ben signed to the highest QB contract last year (until this supposed Eli contract is finalized)? Its kinda how it is with rookie contracts. Every year the #1 pick becomes the highest paid rookie ever.

Eli's not worth the money since he's merely good, not great, but the Giants don't have any choice in the matter. He played a part in winning them a SB and is still young. They had to extend him. And like someone else posted, he probably would've gotten even more whenever he hit FA.

He won it for them just like Trent Dilfer won it for the Ravens.

Are you seriously comparing ELi Manning to Trent ****ing Dilfer?

Did you WATCH the SUperbowl last year???

Eli is a good QB who had a sh^tty game, if the Giants want to PAY THEIR SUPERBOWL WINNING QB, they should go ahead.

Good post.

In a few years it'll probably be Flacco/Ryan becoming the highest paid QB ever.

It's just the way it is.
