I currently am looking into getting a turntable USB converter as well to convert some of the original albums I have...

I have been listening to... (I understand some of these might not be the right timeframe... Pandora does not only play music from one decade... )

Beatles

Doors

Hendrix

Steppenwolf

Cream

Creedence Clearwater

The Zombies

Deep Purple

Iron Butterfly

Rolling Stones

Free

Pink Floyd

Led Zeppelin

The Who

Eagles

and a few others...

Anyone got any others I should try?

I'm open to suggestions...

You've left out an entire group of Motown artists. Where do you want to start? From the Supremes, to Stevie Wonder to the Temptations. Then you have your California groups like the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, the Mamas and Papas. Then you have your New York groups, like the Four Seasons, the Crests, the Duprees...there are so many groups it's like a who's who.

Peter Green, Santana

The Animals, Savoy Brown

The Yardbirds

Bob Dylan (Maggies farm), Syd Barrett

Screaming Lord Sutch, The Chocolate Watchband

great choice Larz-The Animals doing It's My Life...I saw Bruce do a killer version of that song in October 1976 at Rutgers U...another life-changing evening...I was sick as a dog and couldn't even hardly stand up the next day when I felt better I said "holy crap that was the greatest rock show I ever saw"

I've mentioned him before, but Nick Drake might be the most talented singer songwriter most folks--even rock fans--have never heard of. Tragically, his depression and drug use killed him at age 25. I would encourage you to check out his brilliant work.

I love that saying: "I had too much to dream last night"

They do a really cool version of "I've got my mojo workin" and "Smokestack Lightning"

-Both are live. The album in my itunes says Stockholm '67

"Get me to the World on Time" is another great tune by them.

I couldn't find any good quality videos on Youtube but check out these songs

I'd never heard him before BG-I'm gonna DL some tunes from MP3Rocket

See, that's what I mean, SFJ. So many of us rock fanatics from the 60s and 70s missed Nick Drake. How!!?? I didn't get turned on to the guy until around 1998 by a guitar teacher in California. When I heard his amazing tunes and haunting voice, I could not figure out how he got under my radar. If you lived closer, I would give you a really nice compilation of his songs for you to copy. A few more for your enjoyment, the first--"Time of No Reply" gives me chills every time I listen to it:

Time of No Reply

Summer was gone and the heat died down

And Autumn reached for her golden crown

I looked behind as I heard a sigh

But this was the time of no reply.

The sun went down and the crowd went home

I was left by the roadside all alone

I turned to speak as they went by

But this was the time of no reply.

The time of no reply is calling me to stay

There is no hello and no goodbye

To leave there is no way.

The trees on the hill had nothing to say

They would keep their dreams till another day

So they stood and thought and wondered why

For this was the time of no reply.

Time goes by from year to year

And no one asks why I am standing here

But I have my answer as I look to the sky

This is the time of no reply.

The time of no reply is calling me to stay

There`s no hello and no goodbye

To leave there is no way

well for one thing borgo-NYC radio NEVER played one song or I would have heard him....he seems like the kind of guy that might have fallen between the cracks as there were a LOT of great singer/songwriter dudes back in the late 60's early 70's when Nick Drake was alive...the Neil Youngs, Cat Stevens, James Taylors, Van Morrisons, Harry Chapins and Jim Croces...those guys all had hits...Drake seems more like an eclectic taste...kind of like say a Tim Hardin was...who I love
