NIGHT STALKER
It's in the stars that Ryan becomes our next HC...after all, his old man was the DC on the Jets SB team in '69.

Never heard of the guy. dungy was on the "year to year" plan, so caldwell was locked in as dungy's successor to make sure he didn't go anywhere else in the meantime very smart move
Jets Voice of Reason
It is amazing. I still think it's hilarious that we actually got Leon Washington straight up for Herm. It's like we took a pile of gold in exchange for fig newtons.

Jets Voice of Reason
Who is the new GM for KC? Do you think they will fire Herm's stupid @ss? Scott Pioli. There's no way Herm is sticking around, Pioli knows full well the incompetence that is Herm.

Irish Jet
Well there you have it. Rex Ryan aint coming here. LOL, yeah to go to the great Kansas City Chiefs. As unbelievable as it may sound. The Jets job is IMO the most attractive one out there right by default if nothing else. I'm still not convinced that Wade Phillips is safe either. Even with a question mark at QB, our defense has a lot of tools to work with, and our offense is also in much better shape than the Chief's offense as well. The only nice thing about KC is they have another high draft pick to work with. But they still have to hope Dorsey works out, because they sorely missed Jared Allen and a lot of people have been disappointed with Dorsey. Jets Voice of Reason
You're Irish and you don't know Murphy's Law? Honestly, I said what I did about the Jets being a better situation, but until he signs here, I'm still scared ****less that the Jets will screw this up somehow. JMJ
There are several teams in the NFL looking for a new HC. What if they make a better offer to Rex Ryan? Brian Schittenheimer becomes our new HC. A great sign to me is that Spagnuolo was a finalist for both us and the Rams. Neither of us hired him immediately meaning that we were both pretty much holding out hoping for Rex Ryan but neither of us could make him an offer yet. Days later when word from Rex's people gets to the Rams that he is going with the Jets, then they decide (5-6 days after they could have) to offer Spagnuolo their job. If Ryan wasn't coming to the Jets, Spags wouldn't be the head coach of the Rams yet.

If Ryan wasn't coming to the Jets, Spags wouldn't be the head coach of the Rams yet. I had the same thought as well. Either the Rams were blown away by Spags or they realized that they were out of the running for Ryan. Also, there is no reason to not even interview Gruden unless we already have decided on the head coach. Nor is there reason for us to announce "we're willing to wait until after the superbowl for Ryan" If the Jets really wanted Spags, we'd have at least made an offer to him. . Brian Schittenheimer becomes our new HC. Ryan knows that he will be the second coming of Bill Parcels here. That's why he wants to come here. Except he will stay with us for a long time. He will change this franchise's fortunes forever. Write it down. You read it here first.
