On some ravens boards they were all saying how there kind of happy he is gone because he played prevent to much this season including the steelers game. They said he rushes 3 to much even when hes having success rushing 4.

what if he continues that with us:ahhh:

Did they watch the game? The Ravens were blitzing like crazy.

Hmmmm ... second leading defense with him. I am sure these geniuses are confident they will move up to #1 without that conservative bum.

Or could they just be bitter??? Nah ...

Strange. I have seen them play often and rarely see them sitting back in coverage.

Go back a month ago when the Ravens had a 9-6 lead and had stoned the Steelers all game. The Steelers went like 86 yards.

People are so enamored by the blitz. Sure, it looks great, and when successful - really great. But you better trust that your secondary can handle man coverage or a quick slant, out, whatever. If you blitz like crazy - you have to have the personnel to pull it off consistently. You all think the Jets have the personnel?

That was troublesome, but the Steelers have their number. And their weakness this year was at CB, so it's not all that surprising.

I am not sure about that. The Steelers had done virtually nothing and with relative ease marched down the field. Props to Ben but he had all day.

One example. Well, that proves it.

Yeah, I am sure the Raven fans who watch the team all the time know less then the Jet Nation.

It worked for 11 weeks.

Who is saying we have the same guys in the secondary come next year. Do the Ravens besides Reed have all all pros in their secondary?

Please, you really can't be this naive. They are about to lose a brilliant DC who is about to move up to HC. He wasn't fired due to incompetence. They are bitter.

always a unknown..

who are the GREAT D coordinators????

He's 2nd tier, to guys like Lebeau, Johnson, Kiffin, Belichick etc etc.

He'll make our D better, but by how much? Rex did a good job in Baltimore, but they had growing problems adjusting to his 4-6 scheme a couple years ago, esp in defending the deep ball.

Yes they are, but do not be as naive to not ask why did they fire him?

He was interviewed and passed over by Atlanta, Miami and his own Baltimore team last year after getting fired. He was so brilliant that the FO risked losing him by firing him.

Again, Ryan maybe all that and a cup of doughnut grease. I am just saying there are questions there. They could be false. They are though. He knows football, no doubt. He also had a great situation and great players..

OK, let's play. This allegation is he plays prevent too much. Too many 3 man rushes. I have seen a number of Ravens games. I saw some 3 man rushes. I also saw them get sacks and pressures with their 3 man rushes. You don't blitz just for the sake of blitzing. You do what works. I have no idea what they are talking about with prevent defenses. I rarely saw that. But let's just say they checked to make sure which games I did not watch and played lots of prevent defense in those games.

Who cares? His defense worked. Second rated in the NFL.
