Good Luck to President McCain

You know what? The peaceful transition of power between rival factions, ruled by a democratic electorate, is an incredible thing. Yes, some of us are happier than others about the flow of that power, but folks on the other side had their day eight years ago and will, again, in the future.

It would be really nice if people could pull their heads out of their asses long enough to recognize that. This is a great day for this country - not because of who took the oath of office, but because it was such a visible example of the ideals that built the United States of America into a nation and made it great.

I did not vote for him, but now he is my President as much as anyone who did vote for him. I hope he does a great job. Then we all win. That is the beauty of this country.

Speaking of transition of power, I watched a special on Thomas Jefferson last night. John Adams apparently hated him so much, he snuck out of the White House in the middle of the night before Jefferson's inauguration. Too funny. As great as our forefathers were, I think we have come a long way.

Well said.
