InstantClassic
I think the Jets should take a serious look at him. He has recovered from previous injury and has looked great in his opportunities in Pitt. Why not give him a shot? He should come relatively cheap and has a pretty good arm, and is a warrior on the field (See: Marshall)
124
I agree. We need to bring in a veteran to compete with Clemens and be his backup if something were to happen to him. Garcia would want the job, so he doesn't work, so the best next option is Leftwich or maybe David Carr.
BroadwayJoe12
I brought this up in a different forum I was in and think it's a good option. I personally feel if schotty stays than Clemens and Ratliff will have a clear advantage with knowing the playbook, however Leftwich showed this year in Pitt that if he isn't asked to be Big Ben he can be more than serviceable. If he is kept upright he can put the ball where he wants and has always had a cannon for an arm. His only problem has been staying healthy and his long as hell release. He has seemed to correct the later and I think he should be given a shot. Although, I personally seem him winding up in chicago. Angelo has already expressed interest. gang_green03
He'd be a nice stop gap veteran as a nice insurance policy for a young QB but I think he'd rather go a team where he'd be garaunteed to start. If we can get him though by all means they should go for it. As long as we were a run first team and the line gave him time for that wind up of his he'd do fine. redman81
I would not object to this. He is at least a very good backup and we could prob get him without spending too much. Guess we have to wait and see what #4 decides first.
piney
I guess if they want another guy to have compete....maybe a little lightning in the bottle..but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
The Troll
He may have the slowest release in NFL history. No thank you. Isn't Sage Rosenfels a free agent?
Aqua4ever04
Why not just put a statue back there? Joey Porter will tear Leftwich's head off.
DMaynard
Why not just put a statue back there? Joey Porter will tear Leftwich's head off. Exactly. If Leftwich isn't already injured from the pre-game warmups. No thanks.

DMaynard
chad pennington has the slowest.....everyone else in the running is a distant 2nd No doubt. Give credit to Miami for knowing this and making the flea flicker part of their standard offensive package. Of course, that crap doesn't work against good defenses like the Ravens. Thai Jet
I'd rather have Kurt Warner or Garcia. I like their leadership qualities better than Leftwich.

Aqua4ever04
Joey Porter didn't sniff a Jets QB this season. Right, and Leftwich wasn't the QB. As many things that Brett did wrong this year, he has a very quick release.

Porter didn't sniff a Jets QB because he wasn't strong enough to get past his blockers.
