SJ, are the names in blue the people YOU like, or the people you think the ACADEMY will choose? (or both)?

that is exactly what i was going to ask.

would you choose any different then your predictions if you had the one and only vote?

Academy Awards trivia

By Kathy Hanrahan

Posted: Feb. 17 4:37 p.m.

The Academy Awards are Sunday and to get prepared for one of Hollywood's biggest nights, WRAL is sifting through Oscar history to bring you trivia questions all week. To find out the answers tune in to WRAL News each morning this week.

Today's trivia question:

You've seen many actors win the golden statue, but do you know what the Oscar represents?

Answer: The Oscar statuette depicts a knight holding a crusader's sword, standing on a reel of film with five spokes. The spokes signify the original branches of the Academy: actors, writers, directors, producers and technicians.

I have seen all films now..

I have predictions up, but will probably revise the week of Oscars..

I am still on fence with Rourke in Wrestler vs Penn in Milk.. and Streep in Doubt vs Winslett in Reader..

will decide later

i saw both movies as well and think rourke gave the better performance but penn will win.

2 reasons:

1 - milk was more of an upbeat movie and the material appeals to the hollywood crowd

2 - penn's liberal politics

when all movies, i meant all movies in all categories :D

but i agree,,there is good chance oscar voters (more liberal than gold globe voters) will give it to penn..i may change i nnext day or so before oscars,,this one is a tuffee

OK, I dont give a shiiit...I originally picked Penn in Milk and I will go with my gut..

Rourke more tahn likely will win, buts since its so close I will just go wit hwhat I thought was a better job..not by much both great, but I just give slight edge to Penn..

So I have probabloy jinxed penn, but I changed pick to Penn in 1st post...

alas,,
