Jets Babe
He doesnt have a favorite team because they dont give a crap about him? I'd ask to see his man-card. well...he has the mentality like, "why should i devote my life to some sports team and get all pissed off when they lose like you do, erika? why do you care so much about the jets? they get paid millions of dollars a year...do you really think they give a **** about you?" ah, whatever. besides, i don't think i could date a football fan. i've tried before. it sucks. if we're both jets fans, we'll be miserable together...which sucks. if he's something other than the jets, we'll argue a lot...which sucks. if he doesn't care about a particular team, he helps me get my mind off of things when the jets lose. sexy time! He sounds gay and lame. Dump him for a guy who posts on internet message boards a lot. Much more exciting and manly. Only thing I have a problem with is the "they don't care about me so why should I care about them...and also they're rich" (in so many words) is one of the dumber things I've heard recently. Something only a selfish child, teeming with jealousy about what others have that he does not, would say. If he said he just didn't like the sport then at least he's an adult man. A gay man, but a man nonetheless.

Something like C telling Daddy DeNiro his new-found gangster wisdom as to why he now doesn't give a crap about the Yanks or Mantle. Forget exactly, but it was something like that. auburnjet
its funny that people would even care enough to talk about such a subject. i mean, you really care whether or not someone else watches something??? i mean, i could understand if you said you thought people who didn't like playing it, but you are honestly saying that people are not "manly" because they don't sit on a couch and watch something on tv? or even in the stands? either way, hockey is more manly than football anyways. Vudu
No, straight guys that dont follow the NFL? It seems so odd to me... WHy? Is there a rule that says that all straight men HAVE to like football? Football is just another sport. Some people like it some people dont. What is so odd about that? And the rest of you backing up this thread with these ridiculous arguments are weirdos as well. Im from NY, and here Basketball is bigger than football. Football isnt pushed that much in high school in the city as much as basketball is. So a lot of youth growing up in the city are apathetic towards football. Still your argument about straight men not liking football being odd is weak. Football isnt the end all of Sports. Lets not forget America is a countrey of immigrants as well, most of the foriegn born people like other Sports.
auburnjet
hockey is an irrelevant sport!!! might as well show curling Well, in all reality all sports are irrelevant. The nfl is irrelevant to most of the world, but people still like it. either way, i wasn't talking about watching the sport. i was talking about playing it. who bases someones manliness on what they watch on television. go be a lumberjack or build a house or something if you want to be manly. im not thinking about manliness when i want to watch football. and, now that i think about it, its kinda weird that anyone would. DMaynard
It is really not that uncommon. In fact, I think this is a good time for me to confess that I really don't like football that much and have only pretended to be a Jets fan for the last 40+ years to gain acceptance. It hasn't been working, so I'll give it a few more years and then maybe move on to figure skating.
