Judging by the winter we're having here I beg to differ on this global warming myth. ;)

Ok, here is what I don't get, the greenhouse effect, it basically says that we are emitting these gases into the atmosphere wich trap the heat that comes to earth and re-radiates back at us instead of escaping. Now, how is it that heat from the sun can even get to us to begin with if this is the case. I mean, logically how do the greenhouse gasses let all this heat in but don't let it back out?

More and more scientists are starting to rethink this whole global warming thing. Climate change has been happening throughout the history of the world, way before cars, factories, or even humans.

And as for Koyoto, I don't want to see the US economy hamstrung by environmental regulations while the real pollution culprits in China and other developing industrial companies get a pass with no real laws or regulations to tie them down. That is why Clinton walked on it to begin with. If you want to do something about pollution and the environment, do something about the countries who really are the culprits. I have been to asia and china a few times, it is absolutely disgusting there, they can do whatever they want with no regard for pollution or the environment. But they are also the world's second largest exporter and growing every year.

I'm glad you brought that up

I'm not sure if the wink means you are kidding or not, but the shame is cold days make peole think global warming is a myth

global warming is about the temps around the world compared the previous years

it's getting warmer, that is indisputable, and not a good thing

Whatever happened to all this acid rain that was going to kill off all the trees by the mid 1990's?

Its happened in many areas of the country. On top of that, the acid rain has made many new york state lakes unfishable. Many of the lakes in the adirandacks are absolutely terrible. They don't even recommend catching the fish and throwing them back anymore.

bottom line humans have an effect on the envirnoment.

this one guy tried to argue with me about how he thinks that whale farts cause more global warming than humans do. phuleez!

I know, gotta love those people. I hear the same thing all the time from people, with cows and pigs and the big farms replacing whales in your statement above.

The funny thing is, how in the hell could someone possibly think that putting pollutants in the air wouldn't be a bad thing? But, years ago, people thought the same thing about the water. They just didn't get it that polluting lakes and rivers could possibly be bad.

Here's an article on the effect of mercury on bald eagles living in the Catskills.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/25/science/25eagl.html

Acid rain has certainly had an effect on not only fishing in the Cats and Adirondacks but to wildlife in these regions as well.

The mistake that never ended. They still refer to Coke as Coke Classic. As though (with the exception of Diet Coke) anyone asks for any "other" Cokes.

What about Coke in a glass bottle? One of the greatest environmental disasters of all time is putting Coke in a plastic bottle, forcing the removal of pure cane sugar.

We need international accords to put Coke and Pepsi back in a glass bottle.

Such A Sham. Everyone drink the Environmental Kool-Aid. Bow before the False Demi-god of the greatest Man Made scam since new Coke.

You are right, about as big of a joke as cops in Detroit.

Honestly though, you seriously think pumping chemicals into the air is a good, or at least not such a bad thing? What about dumping crap in lakes or rivers? You think thats a good idea too?

No need to get personal buddy. I mean, a statement like that would typically be followed by the recipient calling you an *******, but that isn't allowed around here so we can't go down that road.

Don't insult my intelligence with your loaded questions. Gee, let me think, you know what, after careful consideration, no, I guess chemicals in the air and water are a bad thing. There, you got the answer you wanted to hear....do you feel better now?

Of course I don't want to see that happen, now would anyone else. However, these things have to be approached with some form of caution and brains, not mass Al Gore inspired panic and the drivel of 100 people who aim to benefit from ridiculous governmental oversight and "uberregulation".

Yes it's very important that we maintain our natural resources for generations to come and it is everyone's responsibility, including that of business, to do their role in keeping things clean. That's why we have regulation and that's why we must enforce it. But going off the deep end by passing regulation after regulation without as much as some common sense debate and contemplation is recipe for disaster and will kill this economy. Just look at California. That state can't cut down a tree without UN Approval, they're loaded with environmental regulations that go beyond the realm of common sense, and the state is an economic joke.

Funny, how "global warming" oh wait, "climate change" (Because now we have an excuse to explain why it's really cold too" didn't come about until Al Gore was out of a job.

Hmmmm, think someone stands to make some money?
