No official #'s for 09' are out in terms of the JETS total and the new CAP... not to mention if there is someone that can be had... money will be moved around to get them... Its all a matter of will it help the team... If Peyton Manning was available to the JETS for 25 Million, you dont think they would make it happen? Anything is possible... deals will be re-done to make moves happen.

Greenseed3
If we cut Favre and Barrett alone we'd be in decent shape. Restructuring Moore and Bowens, and moving Coles would help a great deal. The impact of getting a guy like Lewis or Scott would benefit everyone.
CrazyCarl40
Scott is probably the only one within our price range I would imagine, but I don't envision any of them jumping ship unless Baltimore screws up terribly in free agency.

Spudicus
I think Scott or Lewis would be good fits, Scott would be a more long term solution though and give the whole LB unit a boost of experience in Ryan's new system.

Bleedin Green
You know Suggs is absolutely not going anywhere no matter what it takes. Lewis is getting up there and looking for his last big payday. I don't think he'll be worth the money he'll demand to any other team. Bart Scott I think would be a good choice. Barton is heading out the door and that puts a big hole right next to Harris in the middle of our 3-4. Scott will come the cheapest of the 3 without a doubt, knows the system and would certainly fill a need.

war ensemble
And do what exactly with David Harris? With those three, I'm sure there wouldn't be too big of a production drop moving the fastest one to OLB. Either way, it's all a pipe dream. Either way, it's all a pipe dream. It would obviously never happen, but I'm not sure it even should. Which of those guys can effectively rush the passer from the OLB or are big enough to regularly take on OTs? Sure Harris had some success as a rusher from ILB his rookie year, but playing the OLB spot every down is a different story. I'd rather just get Scott, pair him with Harris in the middle, Pace at OLB and get some sort of rotation between Thomas and Gholston at the other OLB that can effectively work for us. That's kinda the way I picture it. But also, Barton had a great year, and he's too valuable to not keep. I think keeping him around as a depth player and letting him rotate at ILB behind Harris and Scott is a good idea. It'll be interesting to see what capacity Bryan Thomas has with us, I'd like to see how Ryan and Pettine feel about his strengths. This draft is so deep at the OLB/DE position that I wouldn't be surprised to see another OLB brought in through the draft to challenge Gholston for ROLB. I agree completely, and if Gholston begins to come around on top of that, we would have a very powerful LB corps who could stuff the run and rush the passer. Though as war said, it is all a pipe dream for now.
