I heard girls in their summer clothes on the radio. Decent tune, nice recording. Nothing special.

Girls was on Magic JM...he released a new album yesterday called Working On A Dream...what I like about it is it actually "sounds' good-not all pumped up to distortion levels to be heard...sounds better than Magic IMO and better songs than The Rising

I heard some of Working on a dream... sounds like the same sessions as Magic.

I still like his music, the older stuff especially.I've been to his concerts in and around NYC. He puts on a good show.

But..sorry, it all kinda sounds the same. Don't like that every new development in American life is grounds for another Bruce album theme. He can take "41 shots" in the back of the head as far as I'm concerned. When he feels compelled to get really political and discuss the people who caused 9/11 as opposed to singing the praises of "working men", let me know.

Also, Springsteen has never really been a "working man". Every song is "I'm a dumbass who didn't take school seriously and knocked up (enter chick's name here), and I'm living in a trailer park".We get it.But it's condescending BS.Want to really help out the working man? Talk about how our governemnt no matter which party in charge rips us off in ways great and small each and every day. And I'll stop the politics right here.

Meanhwile Springsteen takes a luxury yacht from Rumson to Shea Stadium and bitches a storm when some NYPD cops rightfully treat him like the POS he is. Next time you want to knock some actual working men and women, might want to consider what said people will think of you in the future after you wrongly called them heartless murderers.

Yeah, he definitely comes across as a phoney with all his main street allusions especially when his new record is exclusively on sale at Walmart.

But like I used to say to people who told me David Bowie is a fayg, "Hey, I don't want to go to bed with the guy, I just like his music".

As for Bruce's music, he put out two great albums in the 70's. But most of his catlogue is pretty beat.

My favorite band is the Stones, so I have everything by them, but I would never encourage any marginal fan to buy Bridges to Babylon. I'd tell them get anything between Beggars Banquet and Some girls and you can't go wrong.

It was busy this week I didn't pick it up yet. Although maybe I will just enter the modern era and buy it through itunes.

don't tell anybody Max but I DLed it from MP3Rocket for FREE!!!! I figure The Boss owes me one at least since I prolly purchased Born To Run at least 5 or 6 times twice on vinyl, a cassette, an 8 track and CD as well as a box set commemorating the 25 year anniversary.

I really like this album...
