ECURB
utorrent has nothing to do with it... It all has to do with your connection and how its set up... as well as how many seeders vs leechers there are on the torrent your DLing...
Jbro22
Really all depends on the strength of the file you trying to download. If theres not many seeders, theres not much of a chance. If your looking for music I suggest trying to get into a private tracker like what.cd.
joebabyny
any way to make it faster?...i'm running version 0.9.0.3 on osx. ecurb is right in this thread, it is very important that you are set up correctly to get max speed, which means making sure your router is set up correctly. I assume your port is closed. Theck out Transmission, it is a nice, easy to use mac bittorent client, they have great help documentation on how to open up the ports and set yourself up right. Of course once you are set up for maximum performance it comes down to your isp, your connection, and how many seeders/leechers there are.
rillo
Do you have Comcast? They are throttling torrents, also like others have said make sure its setup right. http://torrentfreak.com/comcast-throttles-bittorrent-traffic-seeding-impossible/ http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-bypass-comcast-bittorrent-throttling-071021/
Bob
I was annoyed to find that utorrent does not work with Tiger, because I really like it in Windows. If you're on a Mac, you have to have Leopard to use it. I ended up downloading a different client for the work machine.

Transmission is really the easiest cleanest one i have come across, and i believe it is for all platforms, give it a shot.
