Dr. Phil

This clown really annoys me. My wife watches him and I hear his show in the background when I work from home. He is such a fraud. All he says is obvious common sense stuff like:

"You have to take control of your life"

or

"How can you expect anyone to respect you until you respect yourself?"

People fall for this crap and think he is a genius?

We live in a country where Jerry Springer's stage bouncer got his own show.

This Phil clown was annointed by the self-important, bovine Oprah, so he has to be good, no?

Typical and Disturbing

Yep, Oprah made him and is in the process of doing it with Dr. Oz. He isnt obnoxious like Phil though, at least not yet. Like it or not, Oprah is one of the most influential person in the country.

True. She is also one of the most self-absorbed divas in the country too.

He has a PHD. He's a Doctor of Philosophy, not a medical Dr./Psychiatrist. Pretty funny chit; and, not that there's anything wrong with being a Dr. of Philosophy who talks a good game of LOGICAL bs, but he sort of dangles himself out there as if his credentials are something other than what they are without actually lying about them. And that was NOT a run on sentence. :)

EDIT: WAIT! I almost forgot - he's a jerkoff.

No, but that was.
Wrong. You CAN 1) start a sentence with a conjunction and 2) not have it constitute a run on when the usage is obvious to its meaning. I left out the comma because I was tired, but you, Sir, stand corrected; although, you CAN also get away with NOT using a comma in certain instances. And, I do believe that was one of those instances. But, this was about Dr. Phil. :)

Uh........

You missed my lame attempt at a joke.

Because your sentence contained the words run on, it was a run on sentence.

Work with me.

I thought you were being serious, because I've always gotten hit with that - even by my old English teacher. :)

I don't watch the show, but you can't AVOID hearing him yak about something - even by accident. To wife-beatee: "You need to get out of there for yourself and for the sake of your children. One day he'll go too far, and he'll kill you." Wow, who'd a thunk it? :bag:
