The Joe Namath Movie

With any luck, they'll shelve any plans to make this movie, especially with Gyllenhaal in the role as Joe. These biopics, especially about sports figures, usually suck IMO.

Agree 100% I am not a fan of Gyllenhall at all and it really has soured me on this movie being made. He isn't nearly suave or charismatic enough to pull of Broadway Joe, if they make this movie I hope they can find someone else.

There aren't that many "Men" to play these types of roles; no John Wayne or Steve McQueens, there are too many damn man-boys in hollywood now.

With the proper makup, there is but one in Hollywood that could pull off the role as Namath, Miss J. Alexander, of America's Next Top Model fame.

LOL. Of course, I was attempting humor here. I hope you got a laugh. To answer your question: No, Miss J is a guy.

"You got a hummer from the tranny!" Haha, I defintely laughed and I am sure glad that it's a dude and not a woman, because..well, damn.. I would just feel bad that a she could like that much like a he.

As usual we're on the same page. Gyllenhaal would be terrible in the role. Only worse choice might be Owen Wilson.

It got cancelled as they are now going to make the Brett Ratliff movie instead since he is a sure fire Hall of Famer, they want to get a head start on it.

Stay tuned.

Well, that was correct until they scrapped that project. Entertainment Weekly announced earlier this afternoon that Brad Pitt would be playing the role of Mike Nugent in "The Nuge...from here to eternity."

When asked if it would be a struggle to play someone 20 years his minor, Pitt stated "The story of the Nuge is universal...it crosses ethnictiy, religioun, sex and even age."

Robert Downey Jr could possibly pull it off, but Gyllenhall is a horrible choice if they're still gonna go through with this

I remember it was announced that Jake Gylenhall was set to play Namath in an upcoming biopic about Namath.

Whats the deal, it was announced a year or so ago. Is it happening? It would be awesome if it did.

Whew!

For a moment there I thought they were remaking "CC & Company!" :baby:

He was good in October Sky, and that was about it.
