124
PATS BRING BACK BANTA-CAIN Posted by Mike Florio on February 18, 2009, 9:37 p.m. Two years after linebacker Tully Banta-Cain bolted from New England for San Fran, Banta-Cain got bounced by the Niners. Bergen Jet
Tully Canta-Play is getting another shot in NE? Maybe there is hope for our resident class A baseball player yet...
Alk
Good deal. He got his taste as a starter for a scrub organization and it didn't work back. Back to special teams and the bench for him.

I wonder if this is a sign Tedy Bruschi is on his way out.

Every deal done by the Pats is a good deal, even when it involves a player Chowds called Tully Canta-Play.

I liked the guy but didn't think he was worth anywhere near what he got from the Niners. He's a good situational pass rusher and special teamer. Nothing more nothing less. When the player is on the team he's great, but when he leaves he's a bum. But then he comes back and he's good again. I remember Pat fans criticizing Vinateri and diminishing what he did for the Pats when he left. This is not a NFL-wide, or even Boston-wide phenomenon. Jet fans don't do that with former players and neither do Sawx fans. Only Pat fans do it.

SMC
I'm calling BS. Call it. I was shocked on the Vinateri thing when some told me. I couldn't believe it. I then trolled around Pat fan message boards and saw a bunch of threads on it where the Pat fans were criticizing him and diminishing his contributions. I went to Boston on business around that time and there were similar convos in the bar I went to (near the new Celtic's arena). Sorry, man, but Pat fans are known for that. Love the player when they're here, hate them when they leave regardless of how much they've done for the franchise. Again, it's unique to the Pat fans. Sawx fans still love Millar, Roberts, etc. If they had been Patriots, you Pat fans would be calling them bums even if they helped you win a championship. I completely understand the hatred towards Vinatieri though. He could have went to 29 other teams and I don't think many would have been nearly as upset. 124
Banta-Cain gets 7 or so sacks with New England. Book it. Just our luck.

Just for the record you might want to recall some of the past JI/JN posts in regards to any of the following players/coaches for fans going from slurping said person to throwing them under the bus a nano-second after they have left Hempstead: Par$ells Chad Curtis Coles (Soon to be repeated) Abraham D-Rob Mangini Favre Moss Lamont Jordan Victor Hobson Justin McCareins Vilma Justin Miller
Garb
SMC must be reading Andy Johnson's posts at Patsfans.com LOL! Anyone that thinks AV is a bum, is a bum. I wish the dude nothing but misery - but that's not because he's not a good kicker - it's because he kicked the Pats in the nuts. So my feelings towards Adamn go like this: Thank you, thank you, thank you for your pressure-filled kicks that propelled my team to success and championships, now go eff yourself. As far at Tully goes - meh! Never really liked him. He's a jag - but if signing him means Bruschi is gone, thank goodness. Love yah, Tedy, but it's time to hang up the cleats. And, Kansas, you are correct. Who turns on a player faster than a Jets fan? Nobody. BTW - No former Boston player is more reviled than Johnny Damon. Take that to the bank. They dont hate him because Damon svcks and makes the Roidees worse. Aroid and Damon are stealing money from Hankie Steinbrenner. And, thats a good thing as Hermie would say.
