kelly
Roster News: Jets Resign Wright, Add CB . . . Posted on February 19th, 2009 by Bent A couple of roster moves to pass along: The Jets have re-signed special teams monster Wallace Wright to a one-year contract extension for 535K and have also signed CB Marquis Cole to a minimum level (310K) one year deal. The undrafted twenty five year old Cole is very raw but has incredible speed (reportedly in the 4.18 to 4.25 range for the forty) and has been on several practice squads, with time spent at Oakland, Tennessee and New Orleans. Wright has been one of the best special teamers in the league for the past three years after the Jets picked him up as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina. > http://www.thejetsblog.com/2009/02/19/news-jets-resign-wright-add-cb-further-cap-clarification/

SMC
Wright is purely The Cane's move. He absolutely loves that guy.
Bleedin Green
Wright is purely The Cane's move. He absolutely loves that guy. Oh, absolutely. But you know what, Westhoff deserves that kind of leverage with a few of "his guys". Wright is a top notch ST player and I have to say, I'm happy to see that they retained him. We were pretty bad at times this season.
aec4
Damn right he should. I just hope we can do a better job on coverage this year. We were pretty bad at times this season. Our punters hit more line drives than Stan Musial in his prime which didn't help.
ECURB
Wright is purely The Cane's move. He absolutely loves that guy. IDK I think just about everyone in the NFL knows he is a must have ST guy... lol... not like its a secret or anything...
SayNoToDMC
I don't have much hope this Cole guy can play football if he ran a 4.18 and Al Davis didn't keep him around.
SoFlaJets
Wright is purely The Cane's move. He absolutely loves that guy. Max too and SFJ also likes Wallace-the guy is a ST's ace man

GeorgeCoztanza
I don't have much hope this Cole guy can play football if he ran a 4.18 and Al Davis didn't keep him around. On the other hand, the fact Al Davis didn't think he could play might be a good thing for him.
BroadwayJoe12
Well whether Al thought he could play or not is probably moot, he needed to purge his roster if he was gonna make room for scrabbles' monster contract.
war ensemble
Great thing resigning Wright, he's awesome on Special Teams. This Cole guy looks interesting if he runs an f'ing 4.18 40 time.

LWC611
I don't have much hope this Cole guy can play football if he ran a 4.18 and Al Davis didn't keep him around. I would not use Al Davis' judgement, at this point, to determine the quaility of anything.
