Mark Sanchez Video

JMJ

Recommended Posts

I know this is a "highlight video," and a lot of the guys he is hitting are wide open (not all, but hey, he's finding the open guy), but I'm really impressed with watching this kid play the QB position. He moves well both running and in the pocket, he throws well on the move, he steps into his throws, always keeps his eyes downfield, strong arm, accurate, etc.

This looks like some real good QB play here:

This is exactly why I love Sanchez as a pro prospect.

His pocket presence is top notch. He can sidestep defenders and elude the rush. He isn't phased one bit with pressure in his face.

I'm still shocked that so many are willing to pass on him in favor of Ratliff/Clemens who are both longshots to even be starters in this league, much less franchise material.

The three best things about Sanchez, which make me like him quite a bit, are 1) His lightning fast delivery 2) His comfort playing under center and reading defenses as well as 3) His ability to move outside the pocket and throw on the run.

It really would be a steal if he were there at 17, which I don't think will happen because either San Fran will take him or someone will jump to the 9 slot and grab him.

This franchise has become disillusioned on drafting first round QBs lately.

It is really the way to go peoples.

If Sanchez is there, snag him.

And if you don't you better hope that Ratliff is going to rip the arms out the QB competition.

Cuz Clemens won't be a Jet after next year (unless he rips the arms out of the Superbowl) and Ainge is so far fetched it's absurd.

And I agree - I love Sanchez's delovery and mechanics. His ball will fly nice in the meadowlands.

I think I'd prefer a defensive beast if available, but hopefully the GM's from 1-16 are big believers in Lewin if DV is vouching for him..

Isn't this the guy who couldn't beat out Booty last year and when he played for him was very average..

The same guy, but that doesn't take away from what he accomplished this year and his physical attributes. Keep in mind that he was only a sophmore, while JDB was coming off a pretty good 2006 season; 3347 yards while completing 62% of his passes while throwing for 29 tds and surrendering only 9 ints. That's gonna be pretty hard for a sophmore to compete with.

It took almost all of the season before Matt Ryan replaced Quinton Porter during his sophmore season. That was because of Porter's poor play and not outstanding play by Ryan. The difference in conferences is not even worth mentionting.

Thus, I don't think him not beating out Booty says anything about his game. He has top notch tools as well as intangibles, the only thing hurting him is his lack of experience. That having been said, if he's there, I don't think we should pass on him. I would prefer an elite WR, but you just don't pass up on a franchise QB if he's there.

Ah yes, good example, because Leinart has been such a phenomenal pro quarterback.

Not for nothing - But if this guy is ready to be a franchise QB now why was Pete Carroll so against him declaring early for the draft - It gives me some doubt but then again I don't think he will be available and I definitly don't see us trading up for him - Just askin...

uh, Carrol wanted a senior QB on his coming off his best game on his team the next year.

better than stating from scratch, eh?

also, there was a precedent set here. Sanchez was the first in a long time to declare early.

So in a matter of speaking Carrol was being a selfish prick - Got it

AS for starting from scratch and not knowing USC bench but they usually have been replacing their starting QBs pretty well the the last 8 years or so... just sayin

as good as they've been at starting from scratch

that's as compared to getting that final year flourish from a senior QB coming off his best game in the Rose Bowl demolition.

There's no comparison.

because he knew he was coming out too early! I'm not saying he's not gonna be good, only time will tell. BUT!! He only played 16 games! With possibly the BEST college players in the nation!! That's like putting Tom Brady on the field with Randy Moss and Wes Welker! :rolleyes:I don't know man, you put him back there getting knocked around the way Favre got knocked around, could kill the kids confidence.

yeah cause aaron rodgers really sucked this year.

In his 4th year in the same system, he finally pays some rewards. That's a long time to wait for a 1st rounder. Sanchez is merely one of the top QB's in this draft....in other drafts, he would be a 3rd rounder. Not worth the pick, there is better value at other positions in this draft.
