aec4
It doesn't, and I don't think we will. If you'll look at the breakdown on Jason's page, though, you can see that renegotiating at this point doesn't make any sense either. http://nyjetscap.com/brandonmoore.html How does renegotiating not make sense? He's due a 7M roster bonus!! That's not on that website you mention (I'm not shocked). You need to at the very minimum spread that out so it doesn't all count this year. With next year being a capless year (there are tons of rule changes because of that cap wise) this can get complicated.

Vicious89x
why do we want Lewis over Vick again...i forget Because Lewis will stab you in the heart. Vick will just send a dog after you. I prefer Lewis's "personal touch" in his felonies.
DMaynard
SoFla, completely different situation. McKenzie was an UFA then while Moore is under contract. With McKenzie, the Jets were tight against the cap and couldn't afford to re-sign him at the money the Giants were willing to give him. I want to keep Moore as well because it makes no sense to get rid of him and screw up the OLine the Jets invested heavily in. But Bradway wanted to keep McKenzie but couldn't because the contracts of the 3Cs were killing the team (Chad, Chrebet, and CuMart) That is true. The loss of McKenzie wasn't really a mistake, but unfortunate circumstances. Cutting Moore would be a mistake.

BwanaZulia
if you renegotiate coles all that does is keep him here longer. Yeah, let Coles play his one year trying to impress others to hire him. Good motivation to play well. BZ
slats
They also may part ways with tight end Chris Baker, another financially motivated decision. If he's on the roster March 5, the Jets would have to guarantee $9 million in salary over the next three years - a prohibitive amount at a position where they invested a first-round choice in Dustin Keller. I'd like to keep Baker around. I wasn't aware of this $9M guarantee. The Jets have let Baker hit the market before and resigned him, maybe they can do that again. He's a solid blocking TE who's also a solid pass receiver. Exactly the kind of player you want on the field with your run-oriented team. If the starting TE's little more than a third tackle, there'll be no deception at all. Meanwhile, James Dearth will make close to $1M this year. In my next life, I want to be James Dearth. I think you pay Brandon Moore, too. OL's get better the longer they play together. Lets maybe try to keep this one together for two consecutive years... ? The ghost of Adrien Clarke still haunts the building.
Ghost
I like this. We're clearly going defense and I absolutely love it. If I had to bet my money I would think we'll go after Scott because of the age difference. Something that pisses me off tho is the thought of releasing Moore. He's clearly our best run blocker, our offensive line is great, it pisses me off to even think to release one of those guys.
Ghost
Another thing, it's time for Coles to redue his contract.
Aten
The other thing to remember on Moore is that it's quite possible that his contract permits us to convert the roster bonus unilaterally. It's a standard Tannenbaum move and Jason thinks that there is in fact such a clause in Moore's contract. If that's the case, chances are either that it's happened already as one of the unspecified cap-clearing moves last week or that it isn't going to happen at all and we'll either pay it or cut him. slats
Another thing, it's time for Coles to redue his contract. I really like the idea of Coles playing for what's essentially a one year deal. Draft a WR high this year, see how Clowney and/or Stuckey develops over the season, and address the Coles situation next year as you see fit. vinnys025
Vick paid for his crime, and then some. Say what you want about Vick being a ****ty QB, but he's still better than anyone on our roster. He is?.....Why, because he's fast?.....
