BroadwayJoe12
Per rotoworld... "Early word" is reportedly that the Jets are eyeballing Illinois CB Vontae Davis and K-State QB Josh Freeman with the No. 17 pick overall. Davis probably won't be there if he runs a sub-4.4 forty. He could be the first corner drafted. Freeman should be available, but more importantly this adds credence to speculation his stock has climbed into the first-round range. I definitely understand Vontae Davis, he is an absolute stud and has all the physical tools that you would want in a CB; good size 6' 204 lb, great speed and physical. Doubtful he'll be there, but he would play quite well opposite Revis. I'm very surprised about Freeman. It has seemed as though the FO was quite, not comfortable but, willing to go into camp with the guys on our roster and possibly a veteran. I like Freemans physical tools, he's improved every year and the fact he played in a pro-style offense is always a plus, but I'm just not sold on him. Jetkid94
I want vontae davis CB or DJ Moore or Alphonso Smith with the 17th pick.. unless we sign jabari greer. but if we sign an average CB I hope we draft a stud CB also darius butler CB will be there in round
nypimp17
IMO I would prefer if we got Percy Harvin with the #17 pick . . . I've seen him play in person and he's fast as **** . . . we could really use him as a receiver I think Ryan will make our defense great . . . but the receiver really worry me . . . 124
Josh Freeman is a lot like Joe Flacco. 6'6 guy with excellent footwork, being able to escape pressure and has one heck of an arm. He is a raw though, just like Flacco, because Kansas State isn't exactly a national powerhouse either. I could definitely see the Jets taking Freeman at 17 or maybe trading back into the 20-25 range and taking him then.

JetFanBird
I think we should go defensive or WR (particularly Harvin) over a QB in the first anyway.

GFJET33
second that. plus his injuries are a concern. If we dont get Mccalister/Bly/Bodden in FA, then 1st round pick MUST be vontae davis or alphonso smith, 2nd round pick MUST be hakeem nicks or kenny britt, well have the burner WR in clowney we just need size at WR. As far as Josh Freeman goes, Todd Mcshay called him a poor man's jamarcus russell, yikes. Regardless, i dont wanna even consider a qb in the early rounds, this season belongs to the qbs currently on our roster and maybe a veteran FA signing, im thinkin bulger or kitna. If all our qbs suck this year, then wait til next year for Colt McCoy!

Jets Voice of Reason
If we select Josh Freeman at 17 I think i'd puke. The only thing he has in common with Flacco is size, big arm, and he went to a smaller program. he's much less accurate than Flacco and if he goes 1st round at this stage in his development, it's really because Flacco and Ryan had success from jump street, imo. Yeah the tate kid sounds like a real question mark, id take him in the 4th or 5th, 3rd round could be too much of a reach.

GFJET33
wow ok, just saw on PFT's mock draft they have nicks goin 9 to green bay, pretty big differing of opinions between mock drafts. I wonder how he flew up the charts pre-combine. In the same PFT mock draft they have us taking Darrius Heyward Bey who i would be very content with.
