I am not saying you want them to draft all of these guys... but give us some insight on some good players from your favorite school...

I like UCONN...

Darius Butler - CB - Senior - 4.40 40 time - VERY Athletic and a "Rex Ryan" type of D leader...

http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/cb/Darius-Butler.php

Donald Brown - RB - Junior - 4.5 40 - over 2,000 yards / 5.7 ypc / 18 TDs

http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/rb/Donald-Brown.php

William Beatty - OT - Senior - One of the main reasons for Browns big season...

http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/ot/William-Beatty.php

Cody Brown - DE - Senior - Too Small for DE in 3-4 would need to be a LB...

As a BGSU student I have to go with Diyral Briggs (OLB), just for the sake that someone from my school is on my favorite team (though he'll likely be an UDFA unless he lights it up this weekend).

Otherwise any Rutgers, Penn State, or Texas players and i'll be happy (in regards to this topic at least)

Joe Burnett. All-American. Interception machine. Solid CB (who can play S) with amazing Special Teams skills. Jets could pick him up in the mid-rounds unless if Burnett's stock goes up at the combine.

Exactly who I was going to post. I played highschool ball with him for four years at Eustis High so it would be awesome to have a player on the Jets that I used to catch passes from and attempt to tackle in practice

But besides Joe, I'm a big Gators fan so taking Harvin at 17 would be pretty cool.

Courtney Greene, late 5th, as a backup S and ST'er.

So putting the blog joke embargo on hold for a second, what are your thoughts on Parrish? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills the way people are talking about him like a Staley/Brown type.

Oregon Ducks

S Patrick Chung 2nd Round

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_37qMvwSMwo

He'd be a perfect compliment to Kerry Rhodes, he has good coverage skills and hits like a truck.

RB Jerimiah Johnson 4th Round

He has amazing vision and patience which enables him to always find a hole. He seems to know where everyone on the field is and has ridiculous juke and spin moves. His stiff arm is decent too.

Jif, no Percy? I would love to have him, but I don't want to turn this into another b/c he's a Gators Wide Receiver we shouldn't draft him thread... lol

I didnt want to put him down because he is my favorite Gators player ever...and I dont want to get excited about the potential of him being on the Jets.

Also, I dont see us going WR in the first. With Rex on board, you gotta think we are going D, rightfully so.

Too bad it is a ****ty year for players entering the draft from my old stomping grounds (Texas A&M)!

There are only three invited to the combine to my knowledge:

1. Mike Goodson (HB)- Quick and agile, but injury prone. Big red flag as he decreased in productivity every year, despite being the Big 12 fresman of the year in 06. Mayock has him as his 5th RB, but I think that is a stretch. I would pass based on the Jets lack of need for his skill set.

2. Michael Bennett (DE)- Decent player with great upside. Takes plays off though, and may have character issues. He is the brother of the Coyboys TE Martellus Bennett. I would only risk picking him up late, but most of the draft geeks have him going late day 1/early day 2.

3. Stephen McGee (QB)- Tough kid with a big heart. Not an NFL QB IMO, but McShay calls him the toughest QB in the draft, despite him missing most of 08 due to injury. Was most successful running the option. Not a guy the Jets need to be wasting a draft pick on.

No combine, but might be drafted:

1. Javorski Lane (HB/FB) - This guy was a TD machine in short yardage situations as a HB for his first 3 years. Mike Sherman came in his senior year and moved him to FB, but rarely gave him the ball on the goalline. He struggled as a lead blocker, despite the youtube highlight below. He was 280-300 as a player at A&M, but word is he came in 30lbs heavier than expected at the Senior Bowl! He is passionate, but lacks discipline. I would only take a chance on him late or as an UDFA.

On a side note, I watched him play a high school playoff game while he was being recruited by A&M. He was his teams all star. Played HB and some QB. He returned the kicks, kicked-off, and punted! He is quite agile for such a big dude.

Here is a highlight of him decleating the same guy twice!:

For the Joe Burnett fans out there....just heard from my sources that he clocked in at 4.49 for the 40. It should be on the NFL site soon. Faster than Malcolm Jenkins (CB). Jenkins' stock is really dropping. Burnett's is rising. NFL scouts are talking about playing Jenkins at FS. In the hip drills and ball catching drills Burnett was as good as anyone.

I'm not high on Chung dude. He got BURRRRNEEED on coverage, he's way to overzealous with making the big hit. My comparison for him is he is a new version of Roy Williams. You can play him first and second down but third he's a liability otherwise. I like him if he drops to the 3rd round, which he won't because he's ranked high.

Johnson is meeehhhh. He has patience but he wasn't the guy that blew me away on their roster. Although depending what we've picked up at that point I dont' mind that pick there. I love Blount, he could be another Brandon Jacobs type back, he's big and just brutalizes people.

Chung got a lot better in coverage this last year then years pass and is something he will easily keep improving on. I don't see him becoming the next Roy Williams because Chung actually has coverage skills while Williams has none what so ever.

As for Blount I completely agree with you, I"d be shocked if he's not one of the first RBs taken in the draft next year, clearly he's going to outshine Johnson. But Johnson has still always put up great numbers even though throughout his college career he's split carries or been injured. He completely ****ed up his knee last season and you would never know by the way he played this year.

I dream of replacing TJ with Blount. I watched the Emerald bowl or whatever it was that Oregon played in this year, and Blount was a beast. Too bad he's not coming out this year, I would love getting him in the second.

I guess it's all subjective... I like the kids physical skills but I don't see him as a lock. Unfortunately IMO he has the phrase "work in progress" attached and that just makes me cringe. Anyways, I'd be fascinated to see what Ryan and his D could do with the kid, because taking a step back and thinking of him in Ryan's system, he could fit in well with his physical tools.

Johnson definitely has skill, and like I said, at that pick depending what we have, I don't see why we shouldn't grab him. Although Stewart did great this year I'm always a little concerned about RB's in the spread system.

Same here. That is kinda why I'm like meeehhh hold off on drafting an RB, because this kid could be a BRUTAL FORCE in northeast football. Just like Jacobs is. I mean hell, imagine a 6'2 240 lb beast destroying your line and then throw in Leon? Sounds nice.

Ole Miss:

Michael Oher - huge LT but not a need for the Jets. Still, I would love to have an Ole Miss player to root for on the Jets.

Jamarca Sanford - Hard hitting safety who had 29 reps at bench press and 4.48 speed.

Mike Wallace - speedy WR (4.33 at combine) who has decent size at 6-1 and 200 lbs and a 40" vertical.

well since my location says where i am enrolled, i would prefer Kenny Britt and Tiquan Underwood. both are big, Kenny is the big body reciever the jets have needed for a while and Tiquan has very good speed, i think 4.4 at the combine. both were quite productive with Mike Teel throwing the passes

they need to broadcast a womens combine with all hip drills.
