Didn't that happen to a degree last year, when teh Rays came out hustling and stirred things up a little? Wasn't there an exception to a hard slide that had some retaliation? Wasn't there an exception to a hard slide that had some retaliation? Ya, last year, Elliot Johnson broke Cervelli's wrist when he drilled him at the plate. This was only a few games after Crawford did the same thing. If i recall it was Duncan who retaliated a few games later, which caused the benches to clear?? Morrissey
Not bad for first inning in spring. Lost control at times, but no one hit anything solid. No hitter still in tact!

Morrissey
Too early....showing some good life on the fastball though. Well, that was a good hook. Yeah, he's probably done, overall not bad. Control was off at times, but fastball looked good, and when he did throw the hook, it looked good. Nothing was hit hard.. so he should be happy. 2 IP (2 K, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 HBP)

Morrissey
Yeah...anyone know if they drafted him.....they know their pitching of late scouting wise.....even the Garza trade was fantastic on their part. He was a 3rd round pick in the 2004 draft. He was a high school kid, he's now 23 years old. Hughes was actually selected in the same draft, but in the 1st round. Morrissey
he hit 2 batter in 2 innings of work???? id say his control was off Yeah, both in the 1st inning, but besides those 2 pitches, Hughes was getting strike 1, and 1-2... so it's like he wasn't throwing strikes, he was getting ahead of hitters. LiLMiCKMANTLE
Yeah, both in the 1st inning. Wow please tell me that was a little bit of nerves and not something that is going to happen all year...
