Just like when they signed Corey Dillon, right?

If they use Taylor correctly I think he will be a very good pickup for them... he averaged over 5 yards a run in 2006 and 2007 and IMO can still be a productive player when not expected to be the focal point of the ground attack.

Corey Dillon was 30 in 2004 when he became a Patriot, he only really had 1 great year for the Patriots anyways, the other 2 years he was a committee back who was mediocre/poor by YPA

Fred Taylor just recently turned 33. I highly doubt he has a Corey Dillon 2004 season in him.

and what's really sad (for the Pats fans) is he'll probably STILL play more than Noodle-Maroney this year

Exactly.

Plus, he has been splitting carries with Jones-Drew for the past three years. A little less wear and tear then a normal lead back with 8 straight years of 300+ carries.

taylor is 33 yrs ole

you have mcphoney morris jordan and faulk

good RB's can be had in 4th to 6th rds

Where have you been? Jordan is a FA. It'll be Taylor, Maroney, Morris, Faulk and Law Firm which will wind up being Taylor, Morris, Faulk and Law Firm. Which is an improvement over last season.

not it isn't taylor is kaput

all old RB's hit the wall, what are they paying him?

What do you base Taylor being "kaput" on? Jacksonville wouldn't have released him if not for the $6M cap savings. They all hit the wall, but some play longer than others.

33 years old ..history of hammy problems

again what did they sign him for?

hightower went in 4th rd last year

tons of good rbs out there in draft.

Faulk is 3rd down back, taylor morris and mcphoney makes no sense

no he doesn't , drew was always in on 3rd down

:confused0085: Huh?

Didnt post a thing about 3rd down. Is there a new rule where NFL teams cannot pass the ball to RB's on 1st or 2nd downs?

this is a dumb move

I will yield to your expertise on that matter.

not sure what he signed for

harrison as the 3rd wideout makes more sense

Ya :rl:

Harrison would be thrilled to go from the # 1 Guy to # 3. And, likley wouldnt want too much money either. Whats wrong with the NE front office?

None of that means Taylor is kaput, particularly for the role he will likely play (part-time with some spot-starting if needed due to injuries).

I think it's a good pickup for them. Hopefully it flops.

If he was going to be the feature back you might have a leg to stand on but he'll be splitting carries which will keep him fresh. Again, good signing.
