Vudu
He's still out there, and he's definatly an upgrade over Kenyon Coleman @ DE. 6'7" 300lbs of beast. We should sign him if he somehow slips away from Tennesee. Come on FO, make my day again.
Ghost
I was thinking about that but I wonder how much money he'll be asking for.

GFJET33
depends what kinda money we have left after we sign leonhard and or ivy. but yeah kenyon coleman has worn out his welcome, guys been utterly ineffective.

Maxman
If all that happens we will be the Ravens. Great defense, hope the offense doesn't turn it over.

Would love it, but I doubt we can sign Leonhard AND Canty, and still sign draft picks and extend Leon. I think Canty's gonna get big bucks, maybe close to "Scott neighborhood". You're the resident cap expert, Max. What do you think? Is it realistic that we could go after this guy?
SenorGato
I'd rather sign Igor. I don't know why...gut feel...I really think Canty's a good player but I think Igor would work better in the sports whining capital of the world.
Mistalava
No way we will be able to outbid other teams on Canty. There's talk about the Giants making big a run at him -- he'd be a great fit for their D.

There's talk about the Giants making big a run at him -- he'd be a great fit for their D. The Giants are Defensive End heavy. They just signed a linebacker from the Falcons to a 5 year deal. Giants have bigger problems on offense IMO, namely Wide Reciever. Umenyiora is coming back, Justin Tuck is a beast, Kiwanuka can play either OLB or DE, they dont need another DE. It would be gross mismanagement of funds.

Vudu
Canty would play DT for the Giants. They already have a great DT in Fred Robbins, why sign another? Bottom line is the Giants dont need a lot of help on the defensive side. They needed Linebacker help so they went out and got them a value linebacker in Michael Boley to play along side Pierce. Giants have bigger problems on Offense.
AdropOFvenom
Canty is a decent player, but I'm not sure he's THAT much better then Kenyon Coleman to be worth the kind of investment it would make though. Remember, cutting Coleman only saves about 900K this offseason. I'm inclined to stick with Coleman another year, and maybe draft someone to give him some competition for playing time in the mid rounds or so. After all the dough we've dumped into our D in the last two years and the fact that our offense is frighteningly devoid of talent, it would be a gross mismanagement of funds on our part as well. How so, we only have Shaun Ellis, Kenyon Coleman isnt that great. If we could upgrade the DE position then why the heck not?

The O needs a QB and WR... both very expensive positions... I would love us to get Canty... but Im not sure they can afford him... a QB... a WR... and all the draft choices.. .
