JORDAN HEADS BACK TO THE AFC WEST

Posted by Mike Florio on March 4, 2009, 12:14 p.m.

Running back LaMont Jordan has ping-ponged between the AFC East and the AFC West in his eight-year career.

Drafted by the Jets, he signed with the Raiders after his rookie contract expired. Cut by the Raiders, he headed to the Patriots.

And now that his contract with New England has expired, Jordan has signed up with the Broncos, according to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com.

The connection is obvious. New Broncos coach Josh McDaniels was the offensive coordinator in New England, during Jordan

Wow they have quietly assembled a cast of "almost were" running backs there in Denver.

Injury proned, fumbling machines indeed.

Jordan's deal is reportedly 2 years, $2.5 million.

Why the Jets ever gave a scrub like Curtis Martin the ball when they had the great Lamont Jordan waiting in the wings I will never know.

Well in his defense any time he did get the ball he was busting them for 6 yards.

Troll & Sperm wanted to take LaMont out back for a little two on one tackling drill, why I'll never know. Curtis Martin is the man and LaMont still couldn't hold Curtis' jock.

In the 4th quarter...

After Curtis carried the ball 20-30 times wearing down the defense...

Yep, real hard to do.

In related news, insiders report that the Broncos are close to working out a deal with the New England Patriots for recently signed running back Fred Taylor. Sources also indicate that Denver intends to draft running back Knowshon Moreno if he is available before they trade up to draft running back Chris "Beanie Wells" later in the round. According to the insider, the team is also showing "serious interest" in drafting running backs LeSean McCoy and Javon Ringer in later rounds. The Broncos do not anticipate drafting any running backs on day 2 of the NFL draft but may change their minds if the trade sending Jay Cutler to Buffalo in exchange for running back Fred "Action" Jackson falls through.

Curtis fumbled away our only season in memory as SB favorites.

Maybe if the Jets' then-top-rated rush defense could stop Jordan in week 2 we could have come back. He was like the only RB through week 11 that we didn't stuff down after down. I remember your face after the game pretty well.

He can't stay healthy, and he isn't a Jet anymore, so eff-him.

Curtis Martin never had a 1,000 yard season after LaMont left.

LaMont went to the Raiders in '05 and did great. He had no help on that team. The fact is, we were right. After 2004, Curtis Martin should have been the running back to go, not LaMont Jordan.

how many freakin RBs does this team need!?? seriously how do they plan on splitting carries between 4-5 RBs, and peyton hillis was pretty decent last year, that FO is clueless, they need to focus on their WRs with brandon marshall just bound to be ostracized from the league
