I don't know how to fell about this....I really don't.

Same here, Fish.

I was all for this deal when the Skins were paying Coles' contract because we'd be giving up Moss before he left with no compensation and we could have cut Coles with little salary cap damage if his toe proved to be dragging down his play into the gutter.

However, if we gave him a new contract, I don't know what to think until I see the numbers.

it's ballsy ill give it that much

objectively Coles foot means he's damaged goods - the Skins are up front about it saying he's hurt -

RE: pending physical - the JETS can still bail out on this - but they wouldn't have let it get this far without believing Coles can still play

pros and cons:

PRO

-Coles runs more precise routes than Moss

-Chad looks for Coles more and trusts Coles more than Moss. Great rapport between these players.

-Coles getting a smaller contract cause he's older and hurt - the Skins paid him and we get his deal paid off later- we pay him some -not bad use of cap space -

CON

-Moss as PR - he's enough of a weapon that even McCareins doesn't do the same job - unique player - maybe JETS are thinking Justin Miller @ 26?

-Moss as deep WR threat up and outside - he scores more TDs. Coles is a move the chains guy.

-Moss is younger quicker faster healthier and has better moves. Coles may or may not be straight-line faster.

DURABILITY is a push - Coles is hurt - Moss is a bit fragile but i don't think JETS fans give him enough credit - these are both good WR - "WHEN HEALTHY"

BOTTOM LINE

with Moss out of the picture they have more longterm money - he was making outrageous demands and Snyder is like the money pit - every agent's wet dream...

Dinger demands precise routes and this could be what it's about. Hopefully Coles is healthy.

chad works better with Coles - Moss is a better overall impact player - but we did get Drob out of this deal - so i guess it all works out

WR are replaceable - defense wins championships

That pretty much sums it up. It's almost like a wash in terms of on-field production, but I think the Jets get the better of the deal in terms of sending a message that pussiness is intolerable.

Now, DT and OT. Oy.

What should I do with my Santana Moss jersey?

Throw it out of bounds?

Just put to the back of the closet, he's a FA at the end of next year, you never know with WR's these days.

Keep it, He might get traded back to us in two years.LOL

Very good points by Bitonti except for The Moss is healthier part. Coles plays through injuries and still plays well. Moss can't play an entire season without getting dinged up and it effects his play.

Santana is soft. there's no two ways about it. He goes out of his way to avoid collisions. He's Mr. Tippy Toe.

and he won't go in traffic to make that big catch like Coles will.
