124
Listening to Sirius NFL Radio, Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan thought of a 3 way deal between the Jets, Broncos & Browns. Here is what they thought would happen: Jets receive: QB Jay Cutler Browns receive: S Kerry Rhodes Broncos receive: QB Brady Quinn, Jets 2009 1st round draft pick So I ask all of you, would you make that deal? Would you give up our 1st round pick and Kerry Rhodes for Jay Cutler? Edit:: I'm not sure if our 1st round pick goes to Denver or Cleveland, but its going somewhere. I thought it was to Denver though. So like said, would you give up our 1st & Rhodes for Cutler?
JoeC36
i voted no. i want to trade for Cutler, but i think a first round and Kerry is too steep a price. grow clemens or ratliff if thats what their asking for.

SMC
No, I wouldn't do it because I seriously doubt Rex Ryan would do it. He's not gutting his defense for Cutler. Explain to me who the **** is going to play the Ed Reed role in Rex's defense?

Jets Babe
Let's say Kerry Rhodes' trade value is a 1st and another conditional pick. We would be essentially giving up 3 VERY valuable draft picks (or a franchise safety and a 1st round pick) for Jay Cutler. I vote no.

He is going to make a tremendous return, and go even further into stardom, in 2009 with the Jets as long as he is a Jet. I don't think Rex Ryan would do this, and I wouldn't agree with this trade either, its just fun to talk about and brings up debates.

ylekram
i was impressed with kerry rhodes as a 4th rounder.however,i dont think he is an elite player and i beleive he is over rated.i would place his value at no higher than a second rounder. i would give more than a 1st and a 2nd for cutler,so for me,it would be a great deal.just my oppinion

SMC
need to trust rex..he will find one you know franchise QBs do not grow on trees and he is only 25/26 Trust Rex? There is absolutely no way Rex would approve of this move so how in the **** are we to "trust Rex?" Rex, by his own words, wants Rhodes to be the fixture of his defense. You think the Jets would have signed Leonhard without Rhodes being here? Absolutely not. Leonhard's role is to compliment Rhodes and allow him to be a playmaker. Guess what? The playmaker will now be gone and Leonhard will be exposed in the secondary. Great, now the Jets will have as bad a secondary as it did last year. Makes perfect sense. DMaynard
No. Not only is Rhodes better than many on this board give him credit for, but I think he will be great in Ryan's defense. I would like Cutler, but that is too much.

Teams do not improve by ruining their defense to improve the offense. Funny, Cutler never went 12-4 with a bad defense so how in the heck is he going 12-4 with a Jets defense that has been gutted of an important player? I changed my mind. I would do this trade. My first reaction was whenever you find a diamond like Rhodes or Leon Washington in the 4th round, the thought of trading them or losing them to FA horrifies me. But to get a young franchise QB ... you have to do it.
