BroadwayJoe12
I was listening to Clapton the other day and realized how many supergroups this guy was a part of, he really is a god. Regardless, it got me to thinking of the best supergroups and who they were. Who do you guys think are the best supergroup; you can make your argument based solely on potential or on actual production! It was tough, because I'm a big Rod Stewart and the Faces fan (as well as the small faces with steve marriott) as well as Yardbirds and Blind Faith, but in the end I really have to go with the Dirty Mac. They only performed two songs, to my knowledge (one of which was ruined by *****in yoko), but the potential and sound is just something you can't look past. The Dirty Mac John Lennon - Vocals and rhythm guitar Eric Clapton - Lead guitar Mitch "*****in* Mitchell - Drums Keith Richards - bass LAjdRHzH4M8 I purposely left off Asisa...sorry guys. JetFanBird
I would have a tough time not picking the The Yardbirds if I had to pick again, to have had two great guitarists in Beck and Page together is great stuff, a Beck and Page solo is something incredible. Plus Page evolved The Yardbirds into one of the greatest bands ever in Led Zeppelin .

Plus Page evolved The Yardbirds into one of the greatest bands ever in Led Zeppelin . That is certainly true, which could make for it's own poll in the not so distant future; best duo guitar solo?? My personal favorite would of course be Duane and Dickey, but that's just because skydog is my favorite guitarist of all time. Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks are definitely fun to listen to...and so many more. Gotta head to class though, i'll think of more later.
vanDoug
Mght not qualify as a supergroup for many of you, but I'd select Transatlantic Neal Morse (Spock's Beard) Pete Trawavis (Marillion) Roine Stolt (Flower Kings) Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) Some real good sh**

LurkerKing
I think it's a crime Led Zeppelin isn't on the list, they were most certainly a supergroup, but instead of finding eachother after having an established career they found eachother at the begining of their careers. Ridiculous. Supergroups are groups formed by previously established stars. By your definition, everybody's favorite band is a "supergroup." Borgoguy
There are two that pop to mind that should be mentioned: Bad Company and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Also, what about CSN after Neil Young joined to make them CSN&Y?

BroadwayJoe12
Where is Temple of the Dog??????????????????? There's plenty of bands that I left off, I just threw up a handful that I thought of off my head that I listen to. By no means did I mean that any I left off the poll weren't worthy of a vote, but just that I didn't want to list 20 or so names, but felt others would list the ones they felt deserved a vote and their reason. As far as temple of the dog, I basically considered it just a bastardization of Pearl Jam combined with Chris Cornell. If they formed the band after the big fame of both sound garden and Pearl jam than I probably would have added em, but I guess i just don't consider it a supergroup, because they got their big fame mostly after the band and not prior to. CrazyCarl40
Where is Temple of the Dog??????????????????? Didn't Temple of the Dog come before Pearl Jam and Soundgarden? Velvet Revolver had a decent run. Eh.

war ensemble
I'd probably have to give it to Cream, although I voted other. Mad Season and Temple of the Dog had a solid one album, but that was it from them. I'm not too big a fan of Audioslave or Velvet Revolver.

L.S. Dylan
I'd have to go with the Cream. If the Dirty Mac played more than two songs they'd probably get my vote. The Dirty Mac had one of the best lineups ever. Maybe swap Jack Bruce, Entwistle, or John Paul Jones for Richards since he's a guitarist. It'd be hard to think of people who would top that. Who would be in your supergroup?
