That's cool. What did you do for your final project?

i put in a nature trail at a museum thats in my county. i also built benches for patrons to sit. built a small fence at the top of the hill so people could watch the cows and not fall lol and woodchipped the whole trail.

If there's anything that's nerdy and cool at the same time, this is it. Congrats!

Agreed. Back in the day it was way cool to become an Eagle Scout. But things have changed so much including the POS kids who think this kind of thing is stupid. Still an incredible achievement in my book for what that's worth.

Very nice. I greatly appreciate all the work that you and other eagle scouts have done. Being an outdoorsy person I've come across quite a few eagle scout projects that have helped me enjoy nature more. A kayak launch along the Hudson and improved hiking trails are just a few examples.

Are you talking about the one near Peekskill?

ya kids are ****suckers these days when it comes to boy scouts. peer pressure is the main reason that the troop loses kids and that recruitment is down. it really is a shame because i know alot of my friends who made fun of me for doing it back then regret that they didnt do it.

No. The one I referred to is at Norrie State Park in Staatsburg, a little north of Hyde Park.

It's a nice launch spot. You can paddle out to Esopus Island, look at the mansions, or get out to the Esopus Meadows Lighthouse. All within a reasonable distance.

Thanks for the tip, Otter.
