We might have swapped 3rd round picks too... Nobody knows the full terms of the deal yet.

Just in case anybody want's the background, Satele is the 2nd rounder that was traded to us for Wes Welker. Parcells is still cleaning house from the Cam Cameron nightmare.

Classic example of how anything Miami does always gets overhyped to the max. I still remember the fans (and media) claiming he was on Mangold's level.

I post frequently over at a Dolphins message board and I heard the exact same thing last offseason, it was funny, but when I bring it up now, everyone ignores it.

Ignore what? Posts like this?

Well well, looks like Jade is WRONG again. I know, nobody is suprised. Saban did not trade Welker, Randy Mueller did. We got a 2nd and 7th round pick for him, the 2nd turned into Samson Satele, our center who started all 16 games his rookie season and will be a stud center for years.

Ohhhhh, well look at the Jets fans having fun at my expense... Nice job digging through the archives. That should really be a feature that members have to pay for ;)

In all honesty, Satele did start 33 straight games at center for us, and he wasn't bad... It's just that, in our division, we have to go up against some pretty serious nose tackles like Jenkins and Wilfork so, we have to have somebody bigger, that's all. Satele is good in zone blocking schemes, but he's just not big enough for what we have to go up against in our division.

Parcells loves to start with good centers. He's done that where ever he's been including the Jets when he grabbed Kevin Mawae as a FA right off the bat. That being said you'd better pray Groves healthy. He's only played a 16 game schedule once in 5 years.

And no ZBS team was willing to give up more than a 6th for him? I call shenanigans.

Stay on topic, we are talking Dolphags:bag: 2nd rounders, we all know the Jets 2nd round history is nothing to write home about especially during the Tuna days

My only point is that Nuge was a wasted pick... At least with this deal we move up 20 spots in the 4th round and we get an extra 6th round pick. The original 2nd round pick is still in play, ergo it can't be a wasted pick. Plus, Satele started 33 games for us, he earned the money he was paid.

When the Jets cut Nuge, they just flat out lost that draft pick. Poof. Gone. Adios muchacho. No mas. And all you have left is Miami's garbage kicker that we cut.

He was stellar in 2007 but he doesn't fit our scheme anymore. We don't use our center in space, on screens and chipping guards but rather we require that the push boulders in huge nose tackles.

He'll catch on in the right system and be a very good player.

I don't like the deal, he would've been a great 6th lineman to have coming off the bench.

Don't forget he a had a bad shoulder injury all year long. He'll catch on and be a very good player somewhere if not with the Raiders. (Not sure anyone can succeed there.)

Actually Nugent left the Jets, the Jets didn't cut Nugent, they tried to resign him before resigning Feely, who as much as I hate him, wasn't that bad. And how was he Miami's garbage? He was 21 of 23 with you if I recall correctly before cutting him for Dan Carpenter.

The Jets also got some game winning and game tying kicks out of Nugent, all the Dolphins got was a 6th round draft choice.

Satele is a larger FAIL.

I respectfully decline your analysis, as it is dog crap.

Feely was cut here because he was a loud mouth and that's not what our regime wants in a kicker. A kicker needs to know his place and shut his mouth. Carpentar was one of the best kickers in the league this year.

And claiming Nugent is a better "player" than Satele is hilarious.
