C'mon man. You know better than that. As long as Pennington is the Dolphins QB they are legit SB contenders.

Don't forget, they did go undefeated 37 years ago.

My bad.

How easily we forget about things that we are constantly reminded of as if it has some type of significance in todays NFL.

Chadwick is God.

Yep just like remembering your lone SB victory, when was that exactly...when man walked on the moon?:bag:

It's always funny to me when Dolphin idiot, er, I mean fans make this argument.

Let me learn you something little boy:

The Jets won their SB in after the 1968 season, 40 years ago.

The Dolphins have won a whopping one more championship than the Jets, the most recent being after the 1973 season, 35 years ago.

The Dolphins last trip to the SB, a monumental disaster of a game for the Fish faithful, was after the 1984 season, 25 years ago.

The man you hold out as a legendary coach, Don Shula, was an unimpressive 2-4 in Super Bowl games.

Ken O'Brien won the same number of Super Bowls as Dan Marino.

The Dolphins bragging that their team has some kind of significant edge in overall success over the Jets is laughable and shows your overwhelming ignorance of the history of the game.

Knock it off MR.T...we have clearly been the more succesfull franchise. For crying out loud Mr.T we are one of the most winningest franchise in the NFL. We also don the all time wins leader in coach in "THE GREAT" Don Shula. We also have won a staggering number of division titles MR.T, which inturn means we have dominated this division, which your Jets reside in.. Comparing on a success scale Miami to NY is indeed laughable Mr.T.

Also consider this, while you are basking in the glow of the Dolphins first postseason appearance this milennium (which was only made possible by the Jets choking and Tom Brady being injured): the Jets last trip to the AFC Championship game was 10 years ago, the Dolphins' was in 1993.

Oh and you know what is laughable? Don Shula's pathetic 2-4 record in Super Bowls, including a loss to the Jets.

Now piss off.

That's how I see it, too. All of Dan Marino's individual success just underscores the franchise's overall futility over the past few decades.

The Dolphins ARE monumentally better than the Jets.

Neither of our franchises has won squat in over 30 years. You have the perfect season, we have Namath and the guarantee and that's about it..

Look at the fan of the team with 4 division titles, in as many decades, telling us we suck because we have 24 division titles. Pffftttt.

How's life as the #3 team in the division?

When I was growing up, the Jets, Pats, Bills, and Colts all collectively sucked. They gave the fish all those titles - as evidenced by how many championships the powerhouse managed to win in all those division winning years.

And as crappy as the Jets were while the fish were winning those precious division titles, they still manage to have the lifetime head-to-head edge against them. The only team in the division (now or then) that does.

You can choke on that.

I disagree that only one team can be successful each year. What if that's how it was in every professional field? Do you mean to tell me there can only be one good doctor, teacher, fireman, etc.?

I wasn't a huge fan of Henne coming out due to some accuracy issues, but he clearly has loads of potential. I think he was drafted in a good spot both team and round wise, and should be able to be successful as long as Henning can keep out game planning other teams. Definitely a better prospect then any QB on our staff ;)

Ultimately though his ceiling is much higher then Pennington, I know you like the guy, but he the Ravens game should've been an eye open about how helpless he is sometimes. You know he never lead a single TD drive against Pittsburgh's defense in 3 tries? That's the kind of ineptitude that was routine when Pennington was over matched..

I'm just glad we finally have the luxury of sitting him on the bench for a couple of years opposed to throwing the young guy to the wolves. I still contend that John Beck will catch on somewhere and be a good quarterback but he just never got a fair shake here.

Henne did have issues looking off safeties and making the immediate reads, but his confidence and swagger are something you have to like.

I wouldn't say it was eye-popping, just a bad game. He played against the same Ravens defense earlier and didn't crap the bed in that game. He'll be fine.

Fascinating, isn't it?

The Fin fans really don't care about championships.

It reminds me of Dave Checketts (Knicks Pres. in the 1980s & 90s) who pounded his chest about the Knicks consecutive 50 game seasons. So freakin' what if you didn't win the big one in that time?

The Ravens were banged up and surprised that pennington was able to complete some passes that he did. They underestimated him and your OC put together great game plan as he did all year.

In the playoff game Pennington was simply overmatched and it was something we Jets fans are used to seeing. The two worst games by QB's this playoffs were Delhomme and pennington. I watched the Delhomme game and came away thinking, WTF if wrong with that guy, is he throwing this game? I watched Chad's game and thought, this guy doesn't stand a chance. It was like watching a boy play against grown men as opposed to Delhomme who just had brain fart after brainfart.

I'll admit that it was difficult to watch and even a Dolphins fan had to be thinking the same thing. But I still won't take away from what he did the regular season in making the single greatest turn around in sports history.
