faba
Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports a story making the rounds at the owners meetings - and in Cleveland - is that shortly after the Browns hired Rob Ryan as defensive coordinator, he changed his mind and asked out of his contract so he could join his brother, Rex Ryan, the new head coach of the New York Jets. The Browns deny it. "That is so farfetched," Browns coach Eric Mangini said, shaking his head. "I can tell you I interviewed Rob and after that point I've seen him since, and at no point did his contract come up," Browns President Mike Keenan added. On Tuesday, Rex Ryan said it was he who asked the Browns to let Rob out of his Cleveland deal. "The reason I did it was because it would have been unique to have us together," Rex said. "It was kind of a joke. We had Eric on the phone and we laughed about it. "Did we expect Eric to do it? No. He and Rob are real close. My brother certainly didn't ask out of his contract." SoFlaJets
notice how fast Al Davis let Rob Ryan go as soon as he knew the Jets wouldn't be needing him? I swear the Raiders under Davis have been the biggest scumbag organization as long as I've been a fan of this team.
JiF
How do you report that Rob asked to get out of his contract while both Head Coaches are claiming just the opposite. Where did they get this info from? Rob himself? I love stories like this, making something out of nothing.

Garb
it's called bored sportswriter syndrome JiF (BSS)...there's nothing to report so they just make the siht up I'll take this a step further. It's incompentant writing and could be dangerous writing. There are idiots out there that beleive every word written by these power-hungry, agenda-driven mediots. It's all about the hits with these writers, not the truth. I find it comical how above reproach these writers are too. I mean, they write falsehoods and opinion pieces to back up the bullsh*t, it ends up blowing up in their faces - and what happens? Nothing. Where did they get this info from? Rob himself? I love stories like this, making something out of nothing. They are funny. But with Mangini not letting his assistants talk to the media we won't get Rob's side of the story.
