Rockband or Guitar Hero??????

So I won a "Large" sum tonight in a 50/50 drawing and I've been wanting to get RB/GH for the Wii.

So I ask:

Which one is better for my Wii? Guitar Hero World Tour or Rockband?

Your best bet is to look at the song lists. The games are pretty damn similar really although from what I've heard the Guitar Hero instruments are a little better. You can always buy the other game later and use the instruments you have since they're cross compatible.

I have PS2 but i enjoy Guitar Hero more. I liked the songs better and those damn drums on Rock Band get really annoying cause most people instead of hitting the pad hit the plastic around it and it pisses me off. maybe thats just the kids that play at my house idk though.

That may explain why I have always heard people say the Guitar Hero drums are quieter. I never really thought they were all that quiet but they do have a rubber ring around the edge that you hit if you miss the pad so maybe that's what they meant.

I prefer RB to be quite honest. But like previously recommended check out the song lists and the downloadable songs, as that's half the fun.

That is the one thing Rockband has over Guitar Hero is downloadable content. The selection on Guitar Hero is downright pathetic. I don't think that would matter to GOB though since he's getting it for Wii. Speaking of Rock Band 2, have you heard if the Guitar Hero instruments do in fact work with RB2 on PS3? I heard that they were supposed to then heard the didn't and now supposedly there is a download that makes them work.

This is very handy.

Thanks man. I never realized how sweet those RB guitars look. Only problem is it doesn't have the slide on it like the GH guitars do. I might see if I can find a RB2 bundle with just the guitar then whoever can use the guitar for bass.

Yea quite frankly you can find a used one online for pretty cheap, like 25 bucks. The slide does nothing for me to be honest. But then again I mostly play drums and I totally prefer the RB2 drums. My friends and I played plenty of Boston and Stevie Ray Vaughan last night.

Rock Band i suppose

both suck tremendous balls and are played by 12 year olds who SHOULD be playing instruments...

You're right. What we need is a game where 50 people dress up like clowns and wave their arms in the air, chanting "Yay-uh" while one guy mutters incomprehensible gibberish. :rl:

Christ I can't decide.

Dude, I was the same way. It came down to the instruments and most of what I read said the Guitar Hero instruaments were better. For instance the Guitar Hero drums come with 2 cymbals and I believe you have to buy them serperately for Rock Band. For what it's worth, Guitar Hero: World Tour won the award for best video game on the Kid's Choice Awards. LMAO!!

If it's a large sum of money, but a real guitar. Those are games I will never buy for the PS3.

You owe it to yourself to at least try one of them. I thought it sounded dumb at first but once I tried it it was a blast especially when you get a group of people together.

I play real guitar as well, and it really is a good time. Plus, for me I've always wanted to play the drums and it ALMOST feels real when you're at the hard/expert levels. I just wish RB2 had double bass!

I prefer the GH world tour instruments. You can always buy the Rockband games later.

The only problem is (at least on PS3) that the GH drums won't work on the first RB. They do reportedly work on RB2 though.

Exactly, even if you're a musician you can go into this game and have a good time as long as you don't walk into it with your nose up in the air. Not everyone wants to or has the ability to learn to actually play guitar and I personally have no delusion that because I'm good at Guitar Hero that I can pick up a guitar and whail away.

Honestly I'm ok at the guitar but my all time hero is Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan... and it's pretty cool to almost feel like I'm playing it.
