Michael Vick thinks Michael Vick is still worth a huge contract

In papers he submitted to a bankruptcy court, Vick indicated that he plans on making $10 million per season, which I'm pretty sure would be a record for an ex-con who had a career quarterback rating of 75.7 when he went away. From the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

The embattled
Atlanta Falcons
quarterback is hoping to earn as much as $10 million a year or more, according to court filings in his bankruptcy case. Under the plan he submitted to the court, Vick would keep the first $750,000 of his annual income over the next five years. After that, a percentage would go to his creditors based on a sliding scale. [...]

In a March 4 court filing, Vick

No way he gets a 10 mil contract when he is reinstated. Reinstatement of course is not gauranteed, or he could receive a lengthy suspension. I can't think of too many teams that would want the negative PR on top of it all. This guy is beyond delusional.

He should only get the vet minimum with incentives.

Yes. For example:

$250,000 if he doesn't kill any dogs

$150,000 if he doesn't bring a water bottle with pot hidden in it thru an airport

$200,000 if he doesn't let any cousins live with him

You arent serious.

Vick will never be a good NFL QB.

ok so what happens if he kept himself in shape while in prison and he comes out running a 4.5 and is throwing 40 yard laser beams?? im sure teams will give him a look if not at QB then at special teams or something like that

He will get a one year deal somewhere with little or no guaranteed money and fall out of the league shortly after...

That is... if he is allowed back in at all...

I wouldn't say that. Vick can still play, I bet he's biggest **** right now. He'll get a 1 year contract somewhere. After that is when I think he'll get more money.

I still think he can play.

What happens if he didn't (which, let's face it, he probably didn't,) what if he comes out of prison weighing 450 lbs?

So what if he can throw a 40 yard laser? He couldnt get that pass to a WR...

Also... he ran the 40 in th3 4.3's before ever playing a snap... he is now much older... and has had multiple injuries that would hamper his speed...

He is now a fast but not FAST QB with no accuracy... not to mention he got caught all the time when he was super fast... now his sacks would be ridiculous... lol

The rumor is that his time in prison has made him more focused as a pocket passer. Apparently, he basically studied film all day long and worked on his mechanics and his accuracy during recess.

From what I hear, the guy is primed to make the greatest comeback in the history of sports. Prison has had a positive affect on him both mentally and physically.

Vick wasnt a good NFL QB before prison.

Remember all the hype during the draft and during his first few years in the NFL? He never lived up to any of it except for being able to run around Willy - Nilly before getting his bell rung by a 200+ Safety.

If he's suspended all of this year, he's going to have stiff competition in 2010 from Chad Pennington for Comeback Player of the Year.
