AP sources: Browns' Stallworth will be charged with DUI manslaughter

Associated Press

MIAMI -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth will be charged with DUI manslaughter after a Miami car crash that killed a pedestrian, according to people familiar with the case.

Two people with knowledge of the case said on condition of anonymity that the charges will be filed Wednesday against Stallworth in the March 14 accident that killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes. The people requested anonymity because the charges haven't been announced.

The charge carries a possible 15-year prison sentence.

Stallworth, 28, earlier released a statement saying he was "grief-stricken" over the accident.

Stallworth signed a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns before last season but was injured much of the year. He previously played for the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints.

I posted this on another site and maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years, but don't you flash your lights to indicate to a car waiting to turn, or to a pedestrian that you are letting them go, and not to indicate "get the hell out of my way"? Isn't that what the horn is for? The poor guy probably thought he was flashing his lights to indicate he was letting him go and then got blindsided.
