Barton
Jets will draft a QB this year, might move up for Stafford. He'll sit on the bench week 1 and Ratliff/Clemens will get their chance to start. If they suck it, Stafford/other will come in a la Flacco. Jets have made no secret (Cutler, Freeman, Sanchez, Stafford) they have looked into all of them a great deal. This isnt a smokescreen. They are not going into the season with just Clemens & Ratliff. And dont tell me anything about Ainge, puhleese. Jets will draft a QB this year. Bachelors3
You have to trust Rex's judgement. He worked out these guys and if he feels they are worth the pick, I am not adverse to taking a QB.

Aten
The quarterbacks in the draft this year are so awful it's actually funny. The only reason we're talking about any of these losers is that quarterbacks are what draw the attention of casual fans to the draft. You have to understand that even among people who follow the NFL to some degree there are still very few people who even know who Jason Smith and Eugene Monroe are. Stafford, Sanchez, and Freeman. Three juniors. That cuts the list of comparables who have succeeded in the NFL to Ben right off the bat. Unlike Stafford and Freeman, Ben was a college senior who completed a large percentage of his passes. Unlike Sanchez, he had elite size and athleticism and started a bunch of games. There really isn't any reason to expect that the 40 or 50 guys who can reasonably be taken in the first round are going to include a quarterback every year. I think everybody remembers what happened the last time we fell for this one.
Irish Jet
I like Sanchez, if we draft him I'll more than support the pick BUT I'd actually prefer we got more weapons around what we already have. My prediciton is the Jets draft a skill position in rounds one AND two. I also think Clemens beats out the competition.

BwanaZulia
Lets add some rookie QBs to a list of rookie QBs. Yeah.. makes a ton of sense. Personally, I would be fine if they just built a ****ing brick house of defense this year and let the QBs battle it out. We will have the QB thing settled by the end of 2009 and a kick ass defense to go with it. BZ

Irish Jet
That's because the NCAAis failing to consistently produce quality QBs. Meh, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco look pretty darn good. I think the only year since I've been watching football where I didn't hear much negative talk about the quality of QB's was the '06 class. The one that had sure things such as Matt Leinart and Vince Young. I'm not willing to write any of them off yet. They COULD be good. I've never liked Stafford, he has all the tools but he's not conistent or accurate enough for my liking. Personally I think Sanchez will be the best of the bunch when it's all said an done. His accuracy really impresses me above anything else.

RutgersJetFan
That's because the NCAAis failing to consistently produce quality QBs. Pretty much, but you really can't blame them. Spread options of all sorts have become the norm at the college level, the basic physical talent is there, but by the time a lot of these guys get to the NFL they've been so hammered into everything they shouldn't do, it's too late. Once guys like Rodriguez and Meyer made a name for themselves exploiting the deficiencies of the college secondary, everyone else just followed suit simply because it works. It's gotten to the point where it's just weird if you're turning on a game on a Saturday and two pro-style offenses are actually playing each other. Technically there's only been one (maaaaybe two) can't-miss pocket QB prospects to go high this entire decade, when it's usually higher. That's not a coincidence. Only if they take the QB now, which I think they will try to do, they can have him ready in 2010 if Clemens/Ratliff bust this season. This way they do not completely waste that season (2010) on his rookie struggles (Matt Ryan/Flaccos aside). Its a good strategy.

I just don't see the value in this year's draft when compared to the three rooks we have on the roster. Honestly, if the D is as good as we think (hope) it is going to be, KC can get us through the year and into the playoffs. If he steps up, he can do very well. My money is on KC, my heart is with BR.
