Jets Babe
Great draft. I wasn't sold on Maclin until after he had his pro day. He is going to be excellent in the pros. And I like the ballsy 2nd round pick.

I still believe if all of the Jets obvious targets are gone at 17, he's a fall back option... kinda like a safety school when applying for college. T0mShane
I like Bit's site. He's always done a good job with it. He's not afraid to take a few stabs and go out on a limb for a player. I still hate and despise Bit for selling me on DeWayne Robertson, but I love Bit because he's Bit and he's been right A LOT more than he's been wrong about these players. As for the draft, I would love--LOVE--to get Maclin out at #17, but I think something would have to go really wrong with him to make him fall behind players like Clay Matthews and Ayers. I love getting McCoy in the second, too. No way is Thomas Jones going to get the ball 350+ times again and NOT break down. Plus, I don't like the idea of trying to get Leon 150 carries. He's too valuable to the team to let him get whacked around in the backfield.

I've done 'em, I never get very far into the second round my point was simple, if you thought he was worth a #17 pick, what changed your mind ? a hammy pull ? I can see hium dropping to about #25, but #42 ? it's kinda funny cuz that's why the jets passed on heath miller, and we all know how that worked out
Aten
my point was simple, if you thought he was worth a #17 pick, what changed your mind ? I don't think it's that his mind has changed so much as that time has passed. This close to the draft groupthink generally produces a reasonably clear picture. It doesn't make as much sense now to deviate from Pettigrew's projection by a whole round as it did when he started tossing the idea out there. Ryno the Jet
Nice work Bit. I too disagree that Pettigrew will fall to the second, but stranger things have and will continue to happen in the NFL draft. It is interesting that you feel he is slipping, while most of the "experts" I have heard say he is rising. Kiper even has him top ten on his Big Board. Not that Kiper is God, but he is the Godfather of mocks, if for no other reason than ESPN forcing him on us for years. I did a round 1 mock, and much of it resembles yours, but ironically, I have the Jets taking BP. Too much bang for buck at 17 IMO. He will be a solid, all around TE for years that would make Keller a bigger threat than he already is capable of being. I know the naysayers claim that a TE in the 1st two years in a row is moronic, but if available at 17, he would likely be the best player at any position remaining. Time will tell. I just didn't feell like he's been working out well enough to justify the selection... but his play on the field and the Jets need could very well justify it. .. it's a bit of a reach at 17, his window is probably 21 - 45 overall.
