Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 9, 2009 Heh, after the opening series ugliness, I'll settle for 2 of 3....loved to see the strong performance today though. My thoughts exactly. I'd like to see some better situational hitting this series. The long ball is exciting and awesome but some well placed singles would be welcome as well. Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 9, 2009 I hope we DESTROY Ponson, I think we will. I hope we don't get PONSOWNED.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 fail That's epic. Not fail. Well I hope we can get some good pitching. I'm not getting high on our last win... last year it was feast or famine with the hitting. We'd score 11, then the next 3 score 3. It'd be nice to see consistency and I'd love to see Swish continue to produce and fight his way into that line-up. Nady is a nice player but I'd rather see a high OBP guy who works counts. Nady fits right into Kevin Longs school of hitting of take, swing, swing out.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Is there a rain delay or something?
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 I was thinking the same, I guess the start is 4:30 Yea it says "delay" on yahoo and my MLB radio isn't working
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Stop drinking at work. Let's hope Hideki gets a hit here, we got the men on.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Argh... ok, let's see if Jorge can put this one into play... a single will do it, no need to crush it.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 You gotta be kidding Vic, that's one of my main French benefits! Of course, I KID I KID.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Nice to see Robbie starting the season out hot. Bit of a break on that one. I'm totally talking to myself in here.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Nice start. We need Jorge to have a good year. Vic, I remember you saying that you were from Chile. Is baseball big there? Nah. But it's big in North Jersey where I grew up Even though Swisher doesn't drive in the run there I like to see him work counts. Makes me feel the next time he's up he'll get a hit or draw the walk. Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Nice efficient inning for Andy.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Sounds like Gardner got a little swing happy on that SO.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Trying to protect, but didn't get a piece of it. I think he took two good pitches to hit earlier in the at bat. Ah gotcha. I"m on the radio as usual As Norway said... I'd love to just work that count and get to that bullpen. The truth is it felt like last year we were just taking first pitch strikes all year and pitchers stayed in 7-8 innings every night.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 goddamnit swisher. I signed up for MLB Audio, it's like 30 bucks for the entire year. Due to the time difference I can listen to the day games at work
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Don't forget Cablevision (at least) and possibly other providers has the free MLB Package this week. Yup comcast has it here. I set up a slingbox at my folks house in Jersey, so I'll be using that at my house to watch the night/weekend games
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 didn't push any runs across there but we worked the count. I have to say that I swear we NEVER turn people loose on 3-0.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Hell yeah, 58 pitches in 2 innings....he'll be done in 4... He'd be done in one if we brought him a case of Natty Ice onto the mound.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 SWISH Made up for that run. Keep this guy in there Joe.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Seriously I'm very pleased with the way we're hitting/approach at the plate.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Tex with a lead off double... And 2 walks. Good stuff there.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 10, 2009 Seems like it was a good idea to bring back Andy.... I'm glad he did come back. I always wanted him back.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 11, 2009 Good win... Quality win for sure. Good pitching Good hitting Good bullpen work Let's keep it up. FWIW TB is getting slapped around by the O's.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 11, 2009 Great start for Sabathia today. Very encouraging after the last day. I like talking to myself. Has he looked good? I just turned it on, been packing.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 12, 2009 From what I've seen he has, my stream did cut off there for a while though so I've missed some. Wow he's locating his fastballs beautifully. That sequence against Crisp was good.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 12, 2009 Ugh... why have the Yankees not picked up the fact that Meche is working the outside corner.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 12, 2009 TERRIBLE calls by Girardi here.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 12, 2009 Yeah the moves were good on paper but Bruney was dominant and also once you needed a 2nd righty in Veras, why not just let Mo get the win sealed?. The guys he put up against coke to flip them around was a bad call. I think the first guy who drove in Pena Jr. was 0-3 on the day from the LH side and his stats say he hits BETTER from the RH side of the plate. That's the game pretty much. Soria is damn good. Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 12, 2009 Damn... I like Girardi but these were poor calls today. Can't win em all.
Vicious89x 121,413 Posted April 12, 2009 Got too cute. Soria was up and down in spring so let's see what happens. Otherwise, two tough NY losses today. Yup, it happens. I mean I see the reasoning but if someone is not hitting from one side of the plate... leave em there. If it ain't broken... dont' fix it.
